Certainly, emulastation goes brilliantly, thank you for bringing it to devices amlogic.

Also can I use your es_systems.cfg for my build? I seem to be slacking on that part
Sure you can use it.

Thanks a lot Pinguy for all this work and great support! now have Acestream up and running. Honestly, I gave up seeing this ever working on Amlogic boxes. Now I have it back again, I notice I really don't need it ;-)
I'm very happy with the option to be able to play some good old emulation games on my S905 box. I have some trouble however. First RetroArch is uncontrollable with my remote. The main menu keeps jumping up 2 or three steps. Is is supposed to be controlled only by game controller?
Second, related to this, for the love of god I can't make my Xbox360 USB controller work. I thought it would be as simple as plugging it in a usb port in the box. But the controller is not recognized in EmulationStation. I can press buttons as long as I like, but they are not recognized during the initial controller setup. Is there a trick or setting I need to perform first so my Xbox360 controller will be recognized? I'm thinking of buying a cheap Logitech usb game controller (the F310) now, hoping this will work right away.Last edited by Bruur; 09 March 2017, 10:30.

The fact that Emulation Station works means everything is working correctly. You might just have to play around with different ROMS and make sure you are using the correct file extensions.
Now only controls are messed up, but I think that's in Kodi. Strange is they already worked, now setting my 8bitdo snes controllers up, nothing happens if I press some buttons.
In emulation station on the other hand i can set them up correctly, but ingame I get the messed up kodi controls again.

I got an amazing deal, the below linked akaso hm8 box with S905x for just 17€ €
To be honest, I thought: "Well..just for fun I'll buy it, probably it's total crap"
I was wrong..I'm amazed how good libreelec runs on it!
Though these bold ons for playing retro games don't work for me. In emulation station I just see this pacman console picture, pressing ok gets me to neo geo emulator and pressing ok again gets me back to kodi. I already added roms in the correct folder, my 8bitdo snes controllers also work in libreelec and emulation station...
I just registered here.. and saw this post, I guess I have to ready through this post

This is what the PI3 should of been able to do. It lacking 2GB of ram and not being able to do HEVC and 4K decoding was a huge missed opportunity.
