So is the addition of twrp and SuperSU the only changes? So I should be able to flash this, customize my setup how I want then back it all up with twrp as an image and be able to flash that image on other boxes via PC?

Why not just make a backup on your PC to flash without going through all the trouble of TWRP?
There are lots of Rockchip backup tutorials on freaktab.

I have some other question which soft is best for version with 1GB Because using the current official version lmy49f 20170224 kodi seems work on software render because you can see slowdown video vs audio

You should try FTMC, its not updated to last kodi v17, but FTMC has some software support that we Need on RK chip, that kodi doesnt give to us. Maybe with FTMC you dont have streaming issues

It looks like the kodi was offended by the rk chips. I made hr and i use pre-installed version the best solution.
