Hello, I am new to the forum and I would like your help.
I buy gearbest a 4K V88 box with black AV / SPIDF port and I wanted to flash it with RKBatchTool to have the DRM but the flashing failed. I keep the led that remains red and when I press the button AV it is not nothing ... The nand is PFF58-10AL.J'ai try the connector 5 and 6, and 7 and 8 but RKBatchTool remains blue. I can not make it go green. I am looking for 2 weeks and nothing.than your help.

I have the exact same board as henrypaul, same PCB revision.
I tried to flash too but flash failed, led remains red.
When I shortcut pins as on picture, the board is identified, but then when I try to flash or restore with an update.img with bootloader 2.31 or 2.32, everytime Boot Write fails. I tried RK batch tool, and Android tool in which the device is identified in Maskrom mode. But then nothing works, impossible to erase NAND as well...
Maybe the bootloader version was different ?

Hello everyone, I have a problem with a TV box called "MXQ Pro 4K" but in reality the serial number on the board is "MX4VB-V02" and refers to the TV box Scishion V88, then download almost all the ROMS for that device and none allows me to flash it, message appears (download boot failed), I go crazy because the cause of this problem started when I wanted to update with another Rom designated to an original MXQ Pro 4K and from there it was bricked, if someone helps me to find a solution would be great, by the way the wifi chip series is SV6051P. And the Serie of the Nand Chip is PFF58-10AL-1652, someone some solution?

i have the same problem !! These V88s must be crap. Mine all started cause the box bootlooped from being unplugged and plugged back in, and the recovery didnt work so i had to connect it to Pc , it said DOWNLOAD BOOT FAILED and now i get the dim red light and eveything i try to flash it says Download boot failed ! i got it in Maskrom mode and it just does nothing ..still hoping someone finds a fix.

was wondering if anyone has tried just random Roms on this box? Maybe something will get a hit ? Not like your going to hurt a box that dont do crap


does anyone eles box pick up in windows?? Mine comes up as " Class for rockusb devices> Rockusb Device " but my guess i cant get it to go from there is why i cant get it to pick up on Rk batch tool. any ideas??

does anyone have any EXP with this Gearbest.com company? they have a good price for a V88 right now, the only reason im even considering buying another V88 is there 45 day money back and 1 year repair Guarantee..anyone have any dealing with this company? Those Guarantees could have saved me a ton of grief if its true. Or is one of those .. well give you your money back or fix it ..just send it to china for 68.99 and your good !! ( and the box costs 22.00) anyone want to chime in?

No idea, I would invest in something other than a Rockchip device. There is very little support/development. I have a V88. Can't seem to get a good rom on it. I do have twp recovery installed, but I have an unstable rom installed.

first , in Batchtool (green)=normal flashing mode / (blue)= like yours / means MaskRomMode , so you made it right ,

maybe you must first "eraseFlash" before it works , did you try that , with AndroidTool , load it from here :

I would like to get something better than the V88, im just on a small budget right now sadly. I honestly hate android OS, but i actually liked the v88 till it died for no reason. Just made it so easy to watch something on tv, I didnt mind the stock rom at all on the v88, it never really gave me any problems. Im just afraid to buy another one and unplug it and it dies again for no reason . That gearbest.com has coverage on it for a year and from what i looked up, to send it to germany is only 12 bucks to have it fixed. Does anyone know the difference between the V884k and the V88 Mars? both are a good price on that sight, the mars is a few bucks more, but seem about the same. I just dont get how this box died from unplugging it but have an android tablet that is single core from when android first came out that i only had to reflash once and it still works and i have a Netbook that is old as the hills to that still works fine. The single core tablet i use for an Ebook reader. still works great for that. they must have just started making these with crap parts and making them in mass to tossem out and get money ....like everything in the world anymore. So hard to find good service and a decent product anymore.

no matter what i try i cant get mine to go Green, always in blue maskrom and wont do much from there. i tried the erase flash as well. =/

that is a really good point !! and i found a new in box firestick on e-bay for only 4 bucks more than the V88, i think i will have to go with that after my experience with the v88, thanks much for the input !!!!
