Yes, you need to have the app on both the stick and your phone/tablet.

You can see an example of someone mirroring their phone and playing a game here.

Both should have WiFi/ethernet on and be using the same network. You would open up WiFi Display app on both and in the WiFi Display app on the CX-919 click "Search." It should find your Phone/Tablet. Then on the WiFi Display app on the CX-919 click "Invite." On the WiFi Display app on your phone/tablet side press "Accept."

From there the TV/Monitor that the CX-919 is connected to will display a mirrored version of your phone/tablet screen. I tried this with the Finless ROM 4.2.2 and it was pretty much unusable when streaming video let alone playing games.

Both my tablet and the CX-919 are running Android 4.2.2 and both use the RK3188 SoC. It is my understanding that SDK2.0 needs to be implemented on both to work properly. I believe the nexus ROM (v2) is SDK2.0, but I haven't tested it yet. This may be why I am having the issues with lag, stutter and audio sync. Also I believe the best resolution the WiFi Display app is capable supporting during a mirror is 480P.

It would be great to hear feedback from others on their experience with this and what needs to be done to optimize this application.

            finrodize,

Yes you are right. Anyone know where to download the WiFi Display apk? Mine came with my tablet, so there was no need to install. I believe it is a default app for OS 4.2.2.

Technically you can't copy apk's as there are already unpacked in your tablet. I believe there is a app though that will repack any app back to an apk...

You are wrong, you can just navigate to data/app/ and grab any apk file installed there to install it on other device, with system apps its a bit different, they are in /system/app/ and may require some external files or depend on some framework stuff. Also they could need odex files from another location.

                          Re: WIFI DISPLAY

                          Samsung doesnt support miracast.
                          Only allshare play.

Flash the google edition rom on s4 then it works.

Yes you will, but why not use industry standards like dlna? Bubbleupnp is a good way to do that, but there are free alternatives as well. I think archos player is one of them.
