UPDATE 8/4/13 - MK908 Finless 4.2.2 Repack-jjhmod with Vsync Fix v1.1 - Download

I took and repacked this so it would be easier for some people to use. It´s version Finless v1.5-android-4.2.2. with my custom kernel including vsync fix and a couple system.img mods. Changed the mouse cursor, namely. It´s setup for 720p by default but I have also included the 1080p kernel.

Old Download Link - Disabled. You don't want that garbage.

New Download Link - This one is better. I promise... Screen scaling works, among other things. I think this might be the setup I choose to run permanently.

The kernels included with this don't generate too much heat from what I can tell. If you want, you can try my faster kernels, but watch the heat. You may need additional cooling.

Just to be sure... I dont need to change anything in the kernel selection? Its gonna be your kernel by default with vcing fix? And after the room and the kernel are fully install I have to come back in flash mod and flash cwm by only checking it? Because their already a recovery.img check by default. I am a little confuse. You are correct on all parts. And only install cwm if you want it. It's not necessary. And what you do is uncheck every box but recovery and pick that cwm image in the recovery line.

I've a question about the BT-function. In Finless v.1.5 ROM there is still now possibility to use a BT-Keyboard. Did you fix it in your Repack?

In the official ROM BT works.

I did not but was going to look into what fixed it in the most recent stable stock rom... I really am not much of a rom developer. Just made a couple changes. All I mean is we'll see how much success I have. Or else I can start with the stock rom system.img and make some useful modifications to that... I'm really just getting into all this so it's very new to me but I learn fast.

Hi hoabycsr,

Never thought I'd brick an Android stick after customizing all sorts of other Android devices.
It's dead after flashing... When connected to HDMI output it only shows the bootscreen from Finless.

After some tries I was able to reflash it. Starts up, works fine. But blue LED wont work and (more important) wireless keyboard doesnt work anymore.

Going back to other rom and report back in here.

i've got the same prob since i've flashed the new kernel, no more blue led.

For the OTB to work as USB, you have to deactivate connect to PC on USB settings.

The led has not worked for me in my custom kernels. I'll figure it out eventually, or someone else will.

Working on new version.

I just wanted to say that I've started to work with the last official tronsmart rom, the one that includes bluetooth fix. I hope to have it cobbled together today sometime. Mostly I have to be sure that init.d works properly. Also a few UI enhancements if I can manage it.

Its impossible for me to flash anything... My computer detect the mk908 when its connected to the pc but I got no usb notification in endroid. When I start the finless tool its not able at all to detect the device (no rock ship detected) I tried every thing... All the 5 usb port on my computer, I install windows 7 in dual boot just to be sure it was not windows xp the problem... I tried to install manualy the driver in the finless folder on the 2 os. Nothing work. the computer can detect the device but that all.

Now I am playing with the stock firmware... nothing is working as expected. I got several wifi problem but after changing the channel in the router its seem to work. Youtube seem to have some problem to put thing in cache. I got a huge white bar in front of the red one for no reason.

is it to much to expect an official firmware update coming from the updater fixing at least the vcing? Because for now I am stock with the tronsh*** firmware.

seriously this device is a pain in the ass. making it work is a full time job. rage is coming

have you tried plugging it into the pc while holding down the reset button in the mk908? You´ll want to only power it from the pc for doing these things. Take the AC adapter out of the mix for sure.
