The speed isn't quite what I want it to be yet but it does have the frameskip fixed as well as all my other usual kernel additions. Please consider this rom in testing phase right now as I have only had one user confirm functionality, although I think it's going to work alright. It runs great on my V1 stick as well, hence the "universal" tag. Please try it out as I think it will be the solution for V3 owners to actually have a useable stick at the moment. We will get the speed issues figured out eventually - basically it's locked at 1200mhz cpu speed right now. The kernel is 1080, but this rom will appear visually the same as a 720 rom does - it's just how this rom is.

Good Luck! And here it is: MK908-android.4.2.2.jjhmod.universal.v2.01
Hello and thank you for hour efforts.
Results on my v3.0 produced at the end of may with the default kernel 720p.

antutu: unable to test - crash and reeboot
otg: working with usb to lan stick
720p movie over lan samba stream: working but with random freezes
720p movie over wifi, same as lan performance
720p movie over usb stick : ok
    720p youtube over wifi k
general stability 1-10 : 7 random reebots in various applicatons
    xbmc 12.2: not working, reboot
heat ok but i have installed a bigger heatsink.

I can pretty much assure you that it is not. It's currently using a 1080 kernel but that's how the rom runs it. I think this rom was made with sdk2 possibly but we don't have sdk2 kernel sources yet.

I can confirm that this ROM / Kernel is working on my V3 Hardware. It has solved the random screen blanking issue.
I have only tested XBMC so far and can't say it was great, however I am about to test MX Player with ARM v7 Neon codec so will edit my post with the findings.
        Thanks again hoabycsr!

          Thanks again hoabycsr!

Glad to know it's at least booting for some people... it seems as though all V3's are not made the same... Or maybe power supplies.. arrr again.

Thank you all for the feedback!

Once I get my V3 I will try very hard to improve on this.

I think thats part of our problem the rom is SDK2 but the kernel is SDK1 from what I have read SDK1 was intended for Development versions of this stick NOT production models
            current devices(rockchip sucks)

Tried a power supply from HP and the one of the Oppo Find 5 with the same results. Is there any way to check easily if I'm using a good one for doing reliable tests?

                Hey

                Hello there

thanks for the first rom compatible with V3 Board.

Just Installed it last night and problems I found so far :

                1. Kernel is definitly non - 1080 ! Checked it with a program ! it's 1280X768
besides the icons and graphics looks like it's taken from rather 480p
then even a 720p kernel (compared to the official ROM that even with it's 720P
                kernel everything looks good !)

                2. Wifi is so slow ! my traffic peaks @ 300KBps (mostly on the 150 area...)
streaming of videos from my computer or even youtube is impossible !

                3. lots of crushes on youtube and other video players (streamed over WLAN)
the apps just shuts down. (did'nt check local movies over sdcard)

4 all of the apps for tv-shows in my country dont seem to show any content
it just keeps "thinking" (whereas in my Sony Xperia T for instance it works perfect !)

                5. every power-on (even without loosing power from wall) causes the date to go back
to 1970 ? (happens in the official ROM also) it's frustrating !

over all I'm realy impressed with your efforts and the ROm itself !
it seems you've put some thought into it.

but still, the thronsmart 908 remains useless (for now)

Tried to dump logcat during random disconnection/reconnection. Sadly I can't find anything noticable - probably I'm not skilled enough . Notice that there were showed 4 of 4 bars of signal strenght during this.

                    Seem Stable Except Bluetooth

Install the ROM and played with it a bit. Overall it seems stable with just a few very random crashes (all apps and it's not reproducible). Here are a few observations:
                    • Played Netflix for over 1 hour
                    • Played Youtube for over 1 hour
                    • MX Player (HW+ decoder), played 1080p movie from a USB Hard Drive (over 1 hour without issue)
                    • Wifi seems stable except with trying to pair bluetooth devices. More on that later. I use the "Mini Network" app to monitor speed. I peak at about 2.4 MByte (yes Bytes not bits) per second. This is a big improvement from the stock ROM. I can consistently get over 1MB/s when streaming movies off the LAN.
                    • I played a few games and it seems stable
                    • Unfortunately Bluetooth does not work. It said that the devices are paired (Keyboard and mouse). But neither one can connect. The funny thing is when pairing the HP bluetooth keyboard, I need to type the pairing key on the keyboard. It recognize when a wrong key is typed so the device must be connected during the pairing exercise. But afterwards it won't connect again.

Overall, much much better than the stock ROM. Thanks again.

It may be my device over heating but I was only able to stream over WiFI a 720p movie for about 20 minutes before the device was completely non-responsive.

Uhm... Pretty strange. I'm experiencing continuous connection drop from 4 bars with any ROM. Damn... What I'm missing?

I forgot to mention, I switched to a different power supply and that may have helped the Wifi situation. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.

Well... All the power adapter I've tried are 5V@1A, so I think that not's right. So, I'll try to find some other power adapter around.
My router seems not supporting N (is not showed anywhere on the box), so, another good point. I'll try to solve both of them in some way. Thank you!
