The only problem for me, so far, has been the bad quality of the speakers, they crackle when loud.

I have a basic question which I am looking for some answers... My Samsung galaxy s3 which has a much lower Antutu score 16k is more faster and responsive than my M7Pro (1.5 ROM) 18.7k I definitely find my tab sluggish compared to my phone be it typing or navigating..

Any idea why... Is this normal.. Will this improve over the new ROM as they come in as updates?

I have also found that it is sluggish, for example I am in Chrome, click on something, nothing happens, and after 2-3 seconds something happens and it starts to load the page.

Go to settings / developer options and enable CPU monitoring. See which application is eating the CPU. In my case it was Navfree, then Android Weather.

                Nice question.
Perhaps the answer is in the price...Cheap product=cheap components=bad performance.

I do not have my Pipo with me right now, but the original vertical break is somewhere between the two volume buttons. I have tested with Multi-touch Benchmark Test from ElectronMagic. With this software, you can see the points you are touching.

I just tested mine and it seems OK all over the screen no breaks or gaps.

Could someone please tell me if you know, is there a way to re-install the existing applications after a factory reset, or after a new firmware upload? Some applications are very large, hundreds of megabytes so is there a way to avoid the huge downloads over and over again each time ?

I think so too. But the Antutu score is contradictory

Stitch the reset button with a paperclip or something else to turn the tablet off.

Start the flashtool and press & hold both buttons. Press the back button first. Flashtool should now show 'Found RKAndroid Loader...'.

I have used "RKBatchTool 1.7" to flash my Pipo. This also comes with the USB drivers.

                              Instructions.

                              1) make sure Pipo has enough battery.
                              2) unplug the charger from the Pipo
                              3) power off the tablet. if the tablet has crashed, press the reset button at the back, using a paper clip, wait until it boots up properly, then power it down
                              4) connect a good quality USB cable between laptop and Pipo
                              5) since the Pipo is powered off nothing will happen
                              6) press the ESC key on the tablet, then while holding it down, press and hold the Power key for 2-3 seconds.
                              7) The tablet will start and you will hear the sound from the PC as it has now seen a new USB device
                              8) release both ESC and Power buttons.
                              9) The PC will now ask you to load device drivers, do not let windows choose, point it where the drivers are, for example "C:\sets\android\RKBatchTool 1.7\Rockusb_v3.5"
                              10) Windows will now load the drivers and you are ready to go.
                              11) start the "RKBatchTool.exe"
                              12) Point RKBatchTool to where the update firmware image is
                              13) press "restore" and it should upload it to the tablet.
                              14) After it finishes remove the USB cable and power on the tablet

In case the communication between RKBatchTool and tablet fails you will need to reset your PC
                              0) make sure Pipo is powered off and no charger
                              1) log on as Administrator on your Windows PC
                              2) plug in the tablet with the USB cable
                              3) on the control panel/device manager - look out for the RockUSB device
                              4) right click and uninstall it and say "yes" to deleting the drivers
                              5) if your PC/laptop has multiple USB ports, plug the cable in all of them, until you have deleted the drivers from all USB ports
                              6) Unplug and plug the USB cable again. Windows will now ask for a driver, follow from step (9) above

Thank you for detailed recovery steps... This time I loaded the 1.4 version and seems to be stable as of now...
I am also seeing that WiFi connection does not drop as much as in 1.5 version.... Not sure if anyone else noticed this...
                                Thanks again for your support
