N00b: Device won't show up on TV (HDMI or Composite)

I plug in the K-R42 into the wall and TV, using both connection type, individually, of course, and nothing seems to happen. The Button has a Blue LED, if I press it, it turns red. and toggles back and forth but nothing on the TV.

I made it to this forum and download the latest firmware, I unscrewed the bottom, for the heck of it, and saw I have a TN-BX09_V2.1.

I connected the device to my Win 10 laptop and it shows up as an MTP USB device and inside there in a NAND directory with folders inside. Again, for kicks I insert a MicroSD and it also reads it.

Any suggestion on why I cant see/boot the device?

    Regards,

    Paul

    Hi ,

i think u have to flash your Box new , maybe , what TV is it , a 4K or lower , the Display Settings inside

the Rom a not set to "auto" , did you tried another TV ??? (other HDMI cable)

If that did not help you must flash your Box new , for this you need the right Stock or CustomRom for

your Box , Pictures of PCB , nearby , good light , both sides , would help , but first try the first Hint , it

looks like it boots because of the "Directories" on PC , this only works if Box is booted .

Ok, I tried of my neighbour's TV, it was a no-go. I only have one TV, it's a 32" 720p Vizio. I tried this on a non-HD Sony Bravia Composite-On TV, and it didnt work either. Here are the PCB pictures.

Yes, it worked before, when I lived in my parent's house. I have never flashed a ROM, it's the same one that it shipped with, no one has even flashed anything to it. I don't know how to do it, though I saw some tutorials. If you can link me or guide me, id appreciate it tons.

          Regards,

I once had one of these great little boxes.

Back when firmwares were not as sophisticated as they are now, if you set a high resolution on one TV and then plugged into another that was not compatible then there was often no auto adjust setting, so it may be that you had it set as something like 1080p on the original TV that the 720p one that you are now using us unable to handle.

If this is the case then you will either need to plug it into a TV that you know will work and decrease the resolution manually or reset it back to factory defaults by flashing.

I seem to remember that there is either a recessed button hole or a little rocker switch on the bottom of the box that enables you to boot into the correct mode for flashing.

Ok, so I did everything mentioned. now my PCs are Windows 10, and when I hit Recovery it gives me a USB malfunction error (USB Device Identifyer) or something like that. I did a troubleshooting an removed the USB power suspend option. Rebooted, nothing. Doesnt allow me to choose the Driver. I read in a forum of a way I can flash this via MicroSD....is that possible or how can I get arround this error.

                  Hi ,

first , when you connect to PC , for flashing , the Box must be powered off , plug out ,

second , RockchipDrivers must be installed with a "InstallDriver.exe" , as Admin , on

your Picture i see a "Reset" Button on the PCB , below CPU (Heatsink) & Nand .

I try to guide you through the flashing Process , but first we need a working Rom

for your Box , otherwise no need to start . So do you already have a Rom ??? ,

please answer , later i upload Drivers & Flashtool for your needs .

                  greetings / gefattern

Yes sounds like a driver problem.Open the Driver assistant tool, from there uninstall the driver twice (Sometimes once don't do it)Reboot pc then install the driver using the Driver assistant tool.
