I think I'm geting closer to getting a stock rom for CWM created.
Ok, I'll post my guide on how I did it, but it doesn't work, perhaps someone can figure out where I went wrong.
I took a CWM rom for a P76TI tablet and extracted it to a folder. Then I replaced the IMG files with the one's from Notpod's dump. I rezipped it and tried to flash it via CWM, but I only got a black screen.
ROM FILE
Theoretically this rom should be the same as a stock rom for the PMID701C, but I couldn't get it to work. The CWM rom takes the img's and copies them to a tmp location and extracts them to nanda and nandb and other nand locations. The rom with the P76TI img's loaded fine so it copies the imgs to the right nand location, but with the PMID701c images it fails to load. Do we have a layout of the nand locations as to which block of nand goes with each file? root.img, boot.img, system.img, and recovery.img?

YES there is a map and ...
That is basically what I did to make the "beta" stockROM. IE: I deconstucted the ONDA ROM and used the SYS_CONFIG and other missing bits to rebuild it using the dumps I made. It flashed but does not boot. Sabercatpuck also tried and same results. I really thought it would have a good chance of working...but NO.
The NAND map is in a post around here somewhere. In that same thread are example 'mount' commands for dumping your own.

Is this the NAND map?
Partition:
0 BOOTFS boot.img
1 LROOTFS root.img
2 LSYSTEMFS system.img
3 LDATAFS
4 MISC
5 LRECOVERYFS recovery.img
6 LCACHEFS
If so, I'll take another look at my rom and double check if I have it all right.
edit: I can't dump mine, my stock rom crashed somehow and I had to flash an onda romthat's why I'm trying to make a stock rom.
edit 2: I also can't believe that I'm on the same page as some really intelligent people here. I haven't done anything like this before and seeing how really close I am is really impressive. If I get this rom working I'm going to be incredibly excited. Also I'm only 15.

CWM/Live Suite
Using live suite I was not able to flash a custom rom I had made using a repacking tool. Using the clockworkmod zip filesystem I was not able to get a stock rom, but I did convert the onda rom for gingerbread over to cwm. I then tried to use the same method to make a stock rom. It did not work, but I think I am very close to getting a stock rom that will be flashable via clockworkmod. If anyone would like to test my rom it is here. If your current rom is gingerbread and is in english, it will be reverted to chinese when you flash this rom. I think notpod's dump may be a combination of bs=1024 and bs=4096 which may be the cause for the rom not to boot. All of my dumps were bs=1024 and I think I could have used bs=4096 but I think as long as they're constant it'll work fine. I will pm notpod and ask him to send me a define copy of each of his img's on his tablet soon. I should have a stock rom by the end of the week. Also can someone tell my how to view/extract/repack the img files? If I can not make a stock rom I'll probably just modify the onda rom to be english and include some customizations of my own.

its a juggling act between windows and linux
It has definitly gone easier since i got my ubuntu 10.04 dual boot finally set up this afternoon. It is like pealing back an onion using scripts and programs at just the right point to get to what you want. I had just gotten the sheet pulled back on the boot partition ramdisk on the onda v5 when i had to get back to life today. Most of the links that i have found describing the process are here, but after i get through this round i will start putting together a list of steps to get down there and back with a hopefully flashable rom.
A good search could be a10 rom unimg.exe that will bring up quite a few posts and writeups on how to do it since the first layer uses the unimg.exe program in windows to extract the parts to a bunch of fex files. Then you can go from there with a few perl scripts and then gunzip and cpio as needed to finish it off
