Updated - Google Play Patcher for PMID701

OK since my Arnova Google Play patcher seems to not work on this Polaroid PMID701 as it is not getting SU access, this new kit should work as it properly asks for SU permissions. If it works for you thank one of the dev team guys here Petrus for the fine work on the APK.

This kit will install the basic up to date Google Play Market files (V3.5.15) and then optionally allows you to choose additional google add-on apps to inject.

Requirement is that you have Superuser.apk installed! Without it, for sure it will not work.

Instructions:
1) Put the package.zip on the root of your "internal memory" SDcard not external.
2) Install Appinjector.apk
3) Run app injector and select your choices. Of course at least select the first choice for Gplay.
4) When you make a selection and hit install, you should then get the superuser prompt. Select yes in super user prompt.

Anyway please let me know if this work for you all since I cannot test it. But it should work!

I just ran this exactly according to the walkthrough (made sure package.zip is on root of sd card) and I am getting "No applications found: click to exit"

The package.zip file MUST be on the root (base) directory of the sdcard NOT in any folder. When you unzipped this kit if you copied the entire folder polaroid_gplay_patcher to the sdcard it will not work.

It will not ask for SU until you select something and click the install button.

Definitely made sure of that - I unzipped from PC, moved - package.zip and appinjector.apk is on /sdcard root directory, no folders, installed appinjector.apk from there, and same deal can someone else give this a shot? Maybe I'm missing something.

By the way I should have been more clear.

Per the PROC/MOUNT you guys have 2 sdcard mounts! One for external and one for internal.

/mnt/sdcard 2G 749M 1G 4096
/mnt/extern_sd 3G 660M 3G 32768

You need to put package.zip on /sdcard. These means you
1) Need to copy it from external sdcard to internal sdcard OR
2) Plug in your tablet to the PC, open the removable drive that shows up for the tablet (not sdcard) and copy it into the sdcard folder that way.

We may update the APK to support the way some tablets mount the external_sdcard.

Try removing the external sdcard and lets make sure some mounting hanky panky is not going on. With the external sdcard removed make sure package.zip is still listed on internal sdcard.

It seems that the standard root directory labeling does not apply to these tablets, mine states /mnt/sdcard instead of the standard /sdcard or /mnt/extern_sd instead of /sdcard1. I had an cruz reader that died and replaced it with this polaroid tablet...cheap to play with but this one is more finicky than the cruz tablet.

Tried this too, still no luck... After removing my SD card, i was able to find package.zip on /sdcard (not /mnt/sdcard) and still getting this error:

Mounting Hanky panky just like the Arnova!!!!!!

With the sdcard removed plug in the tablet to your PC and using the PC copy the package.zip to the folder sdcard that shows up in windows IN the removable drive!

Again, now that you have removed the physical sdcard, connect the Tab to the PC, open the removable drive, and copy package.zip to the folder sdcard.

It should work then!
