I think the point is this ROM has a new Kernel that is superior.

So, changing the Kernel defeats part of the purpose of having Bob's new ROM.

got it working on the V3 by simply replacing the kernel and boot.img v1 should boot with the V3 stock kernel uploading now

Can you be more precise please . What to replace by what? upload where.

I found an issue with 1.4. Developer Options were not showing in the settings menu. That is now fixed. Tronsmart tried to be smart to stop editing of build.prop and in turn it would hide developer settings. Stupid honestly.

Google also updated a couple base APPs so I updated those to the latest again.

First post in this thread has the updated 1.4a download link. But to make it easy, here it is.

Those are in default.prop unless I missed it. I am in the office today so will look later.

I will look into it when I get home. Possibly yet another sneaky check they added to stop modifying build.prop. I could NOT believe what I found when they hide developer options by a simple build.prop edit! So stupid to try to do that. Basically in settings.apk they added code to check build.prop of the build desktop and build user attributes. So it's possible they are doing the same here but with another parameter. I will find it just might take some time

If you have time try using the stock build.prop and see if it starts working.

Oh wait! I believe you have to be set to Mass Storage for ADB to work. I don't think it will work set as MTP.
Please try that as well.

hi finless seems to run great, althought being a rockchip it still freezes if you do the mouse test (moving a mouse on screen, will cause split second freeze)

Is there a way of changing bootloader, I do not find it fair or productive to have a bootloader with geekbuying plastered on it.

Is there a way of changing the bootloader or do you have another one without geekbuying on it, i would appreciate if you have.

Not sure about it not being "fair or productive" - but you can always replace the boot animation by changing the bootanimaton.zip under /system/media/ to anything you want - or even extract the exiting on and edit off the offending section.

I'd suggest using RootExplorer or ES File Manager to replace it - just be sure to make it match the origonals permisions and you should be good to go.

excellent, i will try this out. not much a fan of rk3188 etc so i am trying this device out. so far very good device but for the price diff i suppose k-r42 is still the device of choice (only about £5/10 difference)

I get all my items from mobase aliexpress, cheaper and faster than geekbuying thats why i would prefer not to have geekbuying on bootup espcially as i have no dealing with them whatsoever

I installed finless rom 1.4 and 1.4a and seems that somewhere is a bug because during watching a movie/tv show in any video format from my external hdd after 2 minutes or 20-30 minutes (its something random) usb mass storage disconnects..
So all day a did some tests to see if my external hdd is broken (has a separate power cable so for sure is not about a power problem) or the usb hub that i connected it at my mk908ii but everything is ok, nothing is broken so i tried to reflash the custom rom and the first thing i did was installing mx player and bsplayer and i had the same problem about those disconnects from my external hdd and finally i installed the stock firmware again and after 4 hours without any pause i didnt have a single disconnect from my external hdd.
I hope that this will be fixed because i really like finless rom, you do a great job Bob and if is any solution to change something from settings for example please tell me because i really want to use this custom rom and not the stock one.
