MK908ii Finless ROM 1.4a

    Nothing I changed in the ROM should cause the hard drive to disconnect as I used the stock ROM to make this ROM. You see my changes in the read me.
    Only thing I could think of is something in build.prop. Try using the original build.prop which is in the ROm as build.orig

      I will try but please can you tell me how can i use the original build.prop because i dont know where i can find that file and how to use it instead of yours.

        Read my readme.txt file in the ROM kit. I explain exactly how to do that.

          Just got my MK908II, I want to try the Finless ROM. I'm thinking I should backup the stock ROM first. Do you usually do a backup first or do you just download the flash image from Geekbuying and use that to get back to original ROM? If you do a backup, how do you do it?

            Seems that the "problem" was in fact the video files, because only playing those files the external hdd disconnects even on stock firmware...so sorry because I said that might be a bug with your custom rom and anyway thanks for your support.

                Hello Bob,






                When I run Bluray DTS x264 720p movies format at almost the end of the movie it exits with no error, it just exits to main menu of bsplayer or mk player before the movie ends (5-10 minute before the finish) and I dont know what is the reasson for this "problem", can you help me please with a solution or something like that..?
                I`m using finless rom 1.4a and I dont know if is a bug from this custom rom because I didnt test this on your earlier finless rom or stock rom.

                  I guess that MK908ii may be an electric power shortage or an overheating.
                  I use the external hdd usb of self power. And I use the mini air circulator to cool my mk908.

                  An electric power shortage or an overheating will cause malfunction of your mk908ii.

                    I dont think that is a electric power shortage or overheating because for example I watched yesterday 5 hours with no pause at a tv show and those files are hdtv xvid format and I didnt had a single problem and after a 2-3 hours I played for about 40 minutes Men in Black 3 and still no problem and my external hdd has a separate power cable..

                      I have T428 and I just flashed with your ROM. I am not able to turn on Wifi at all. It keep saying Turning Wifi on but never turned one. I tried both 720 and 1080 kernel and same issue no wifi.

                        What made you think it would work on T428?
                        It's a different chip set for wifi.

                          ERROR CODE 43 (DRIVERS)

                          Hello,

                          I have the mk908ii rooted from geekbuying.
                          All is working great but I wanted to enjoy this ROM custom. And I hate when I don't manage to do something.

                          1. I've got the message "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb"
                          2. "Reboot to Flash Mode" button doesn't work.
                          3. RKBatch tool works.
                          4. After the reboot into flashmod Windows (8.1 Pro x64) detects it but i've got the code error 43 :
                          "The request for the USB device's Device Descriptor failed"

                          I tried with another usb cable : same problem.
                          If I try anyway to install driver Windows refuses because of the invalid device descriptor.
                          To disable driver signature enforcement does nothing because the issue is before.

                          If someone has an idee... or if I can flash with RKbatch tool without drivers by selecting .img ?

                          edit1: I used USBDeview in order to delete these false drivers, but when I start over 've got the same issue

                          edit2: it seems to be because of my OS, but win8 x64 drivers exist so I don't understand :

                            720p <--> 1080p

                            Everyting works great, the only thing I am missing is the ability to switch kernels (and build.prop density) directly from settings like the hybrid firmware rom does.
                            Any plans for that?

                              Backup.img

                              Hello! Thank you for this ROM!

                              I noticed a "backup.img" file, not checked, during firmware flash. What is it? Should I install it? If 'yes', can I install it in a later time without reflashing everything?
