Pipo M6 Pro RileyROM 1.1

    Pipo M6 Pro RileyROM 1.1

    This ROM is based on the Pipo firmware test release dated 9/13/2013.

    v1.1 Features:

    Full Root with SuperSU
    Debloat
    Google Play Store fixes, to all for more compatible apps
    Reduced System.img file size with ext4 file system
    2, 4, 6 or 8gb user app space parameter files
    Your choice of stock recovery or CWM (Stock Recovery is the default)
    Multi-user support (I finally got this to work correctly) You will see a new option called Users in settings.
    Some Internet/Wifi tweaks to improve speed and streaming
    Some video performance adjustments
    A few general performance enhancements
    The Petrus Reboot app
    Disabled OTA updates
    Brand new boot animation from Tattman65
    tun.ko, cifs.ko and m4.ko installed

        rom 1.1 tested

        I've bought 7 Pipo M6 Pro (for me and my colleagues),
        We've tested the stock dated August23rd, stock dated September13rd, RileyROM 1.0, and now we're testing the 1.1.

        The 1.1 Is a lot better than the riley's previous one,
        with respect to the stock of September 13rd, there are not visible overall performance differences.
        With Antutu: with RileyROM 1.1 we got 17700points, with the stock one 18.080points.
        Everything else is working barely at the same speed.

        If I can say, Randy, I don't like too much the poweron logo (freaktab with the flames).

        In any case I suggest using rileyrom firmware to those who likes tweaking the tablet, having root privileges, and the stock one to all the others. The September13rd stock firmware seems have no bugs till now.

        Is there any possibility to change the poweron logo on your release?

        As far as you know is there any app that is able to allow commands from HDMI?
        For example: if I'm using the tablet playing a movie, connected to my TV via HDMI cable, could I command the tablet throught the TV remote (pause, stop, fast forward or rewind commands)?

          You can change the boot animation to whatever you want.

          It is in system/media/bootanimation.zip

          Just rename it and place your own animation in the same folder named bootanimation.zip

          Give it 755 permissions.

            battery

            It seems that with rileyrom 1.1 the battery lasts a little bit more than with the stock firmware.
            Probably using antutu battery saver with a rooted firmware helps...

              I have a problem when I want to flash my M6pro:
              I start the Finless Flash tool v1.37. The tool write at the bottom "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb". Next I click "Reboot to Flash Mode" and following error appears: "Device can not switch, because of no drive".

                Don't worry, that's a common problem with the latest Rockchip drivers.

                I included the RKBatchTool in a folder in the ROM kit called "alternate_reboot_to_flash_tool"

                Leave the Finless flash tool running.

                Run the RKBatchTool and you will see your device showing up with a pink box.

                Click the "switch" button. That will reboot your device to flash mode.

                Then, go back to the Finless flash tool and follow the instructions from there.

                  thx it works. there is no gps button in the slide menu. antutu benchmark ist 18080.

                    On pipo.cn homepage the new firmware is officially out!
                    I suppose it's exactly the same used for the rileyrom 1.1, isn't it?

                      It appears that Pipo has released a new firmware.

                      I'll get to work on a 1.2 sometime today.

                            Since you have HD deactivated, the icons will be a bit larger, they are scaled for the higher resolution.

                            All of the parts of the ROM are located in a folder in the ROM kit called RileyROM. The file you need for CWM is named cwmrecovery.img. Just flash that instead of stock recovery.

                            The first boot takes a long time...but increased user app space and the number of apps you have installed in userdata makes booting longer for some reason.
