Yep. I tried that. Even tried to format as internal drive but no luck. When it is internal then it is in ext3 format (I think) and as external/removable then it is in FAT32.
I have same problems with USB3 thumb drive like with internal SSD.

unplug both FFC/FPC side cable connector, blow on the boards connectors and replug this cable.

Can you share the A95X Plus Box system/vendor/app/Launcher/Launher.apk library?

The manufacturer of two boxes can be one, the library structure can be the same.

New update is out. Weather icon is no more. Haven't noticed any other improvements.
Still same problems with USB3.0 and slow writing speed.

try this:

- unplug your hdd/ssd
- Press rst button in AV port
- plug 5v 2.5A

in recovery,

- wipe cache
- wipe data
- power off the box

flash firmware like in this video

Again go in recovery,

- wipe cache
- wipe data
- power off the box

- plug your hdd/ssd
- power on the box
format you hdd as external storage

New update broke default launcher. Moving from small tiles to big tiles there is a glitch in transformation (a brief grey screen appears)

So far so good, all back together and the usual easy startup as seen with most AMlogic 905X2,,,
Running Android 8.1 has it own UI Launcher as will see later
Root switch, and I see Upper and Lower Bars
An OTA update as I just switched on so lets see what that can do

Nothing Obvious yet found in OTA just fixes and Optimisation so who knows.
Weather fails to work with location etc.
Bench testing about the same as other 905X2 to date,
Fast Ram read and right
Wifi and Ethernet appear all good here,
Remote working fairly well,
Clock display not to in you face.
Temps not to bad and working ok With Logitech K400 Plus.

click start
plug in usb......burning starts

No reset, no recovery no power supply needed here
it will wipe all data start fresh

I fancy this box, though bit high in price.

There is also a 2/32Gb version available, which of course is cheaper.

Has anyone tried a 2Gb RAM version on the S905X2 soc, either on this or another box, and how did it respond?

Is it fast enough for this soc?

Flashed and it is same as before. Maybe a little better.
There is something wrong with this ROM and USB3.
Hope they'll fix it.

BTW, couldn't flash it without reset button.

Do I have to put device in recovery mode or turn it off (or something else). Is it enough just to connect USB to USB and power supply?
