BETA testers for ROM for 1.5 Nextbook #1211

Anyone willing to BETA test my 1.5 ROM.

It is still missing the clear status bar and opened up settings.apk but I want to test the debloat and make sure there are no issues and also test APP Injector for the nextbook.

So looking for a tester. Sign up and I will PM you the pre-release download link.

Note this release is targeted for the #1211 serial number Nextbook.

Beta testers

Best testers:

We have finished but while I can flash this and make sure it is not a BRICK ROM, we cannot test the features. Please read the README FIRST.txt file in the ROM kit for features and how to use the ROM and APP Injector.

Please test and report the following:

1) Overall ROM Performance and Stability
2) Petrus' App Injector. Did it work and find the package.zip? Did it inject apps properly? Did they work?
3) Miklaus' updated settings.apk. Please try to test all the menus in settings. Let us know what should be removed or things that cause a force close that should work. Your feedback here gives you a better settings menu!
4) Mikalus Clear Status Bar. Does it work and look good and is usable?
5) The WPA supplicant. Does it work like before and give you adhoc?
6) Please try not to report busg that are in the stock ROM. There is not much we can do about them at this time.

Rather than PM people the link I am opening it up to all that want to test as we believe we got it right. But only you guys can tell us.

NOTE: This is built from the stock #1211 ROM.

Ok, running Nextbook 7 Premium #1211. Ran v1.5 BETA flash using instructions provided in Readme. Seemed to work like a charm, but, when I plugged USB in, it will not allow me to turn on USB storage to transfer App Injector. Any ideas? I love the new boot splash screen! Thanks!

So the status bar SystemUI error occured when you plugged in the USB cable? Or that just came up randomly?

When you say you cannot turn on USB, you mean the status bar force close error wont let you pull down the status bar to turn on USB?

Let me clarify. After I finish flashing the ROM and am at the main screen. I plug in the USB cable, then I pull down the status bar and tap "Turn on USB Storage". That is when I get the error.

Forgetting APP injector for now and the USB issue....

Can you please go through the settings menus and tell me what does and does and does not work. Your going to see many added features to the settings menu. We need to crisp that up too please.

I had same issues as caedmon59. The status bar force closes when you click to turn on USB. I could figure no way to turn on USB.

To get Petrus injection onto my tablet to test it. I put my SD card directly in my PC card slot. Copied files to external SD card, then plugged my SD back into my tablet, and copied the 2 Petrus files to my root area. The injector installed, then told me to move the package.zip to mnt/sdcard/external_sd. I did that, but when I clicked to run the app it it just kept force closing. So I could not test the injector.

The new menus:
1. Airplane Mode: it did not disable my wireless connection.
2. Call settings: didn't test. Had no clue how to configure since I only use WiFi
3. Sound settings: added settings all work. Eliminates need for 3rd party app.
4. Battery Use: appears to work fine.
All other menu settings appeared stock and worked fine.

The clear Status Bar worked fine, but I don't like it. Prefer the stock status bar.

I took ZonaMojo's suggestion and plugged my SD card directly into my PC and copied the app injector files to it. I was able to successfully install App Injector, but cannot run it. I get error "The application App Injector by Petrus (process petrus.tools) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Just for kicks, I rebooted the tablet and got the same result.
