I got the ROM working today. I had to erase IDB a bunch of times to get it right.

All the icons and task bar are too small. With the text on 'HUGE' I still can't see things.

Video was smooth enough on HD using MX Player. Looks good.

Netflix crashes the stick to a reboot in under 5 minutes though. It looks good while it's playing and audio is in sync. It just crashes out and reboots though.

Nice Beta. I appreciate the work.

WiFi is fine. I don't use bluetooth though. WiFi was stable for me and plenty steady enough for HD over my network from another floor of the house.

We can change icon density to make the icons bigger. I am having some busy days, and low time in front of pc, and working to port finless 1.6 Rom to QX1 and latter for QX2, and working with the QX1 WiFi in linux, no success yet, I hope to release a new update soon for both devices.

About the 27 rom you are right fireburn, I saw it bad it was September not October :P

Too much work, followed by busy holidays... I have not had much time to test methodically.

However, I have been making good use of Leolas' QX2 Beta 1 ROMs... I quickly decided that I preferred the 720p kernel and have been using it mostly.

I tried to get the stick setup for some away-from-home game playing and movie watching and then took it along on my holiday travels.

So I have a few more comments:

          What works well:
          - Android gameplay using Mogo controlller and games which support Moga (Riptide GP 2 has been getting a lot of love here!).
          - Streaming movies via Funimation Free app.
          - Browsing 500px photos using the 500px app.
          - Facebook app.
          - Google apps.
          - HDMI audio.
          - USB audio (Logitech Z305 speaker).

Working mostly, or I need to spend more time with config/tweaking:
          - Mele F10 Pro air mouse / remote. (working, built-in speaker works but almost inaudible, built-in mic works but needs to have sensitivity or fidelity greatly improved.)

          Solved (Maybe?):
          - Video "glitchiness" with 1080p kernel mostly but also seen with 720p kernel: I have not revisited the 1080p kernel, but the problem has not been seen on 720p since replacing the provided 2A power supply.

I have to repartition though... I think I want all the NAND to by "Internal" and my 32GB Class 10 micro SD card to be "SD", rather than "external_sd"... I think I am currently using the 2GB/6GB layout and am not currently seeing the benefit of having the space divided.

Thanks again Leolas! Much improved from stock due to your work so far.

          Tom

            Re: QX2 custom Rom request

Sorry I left imito people a bit abandoned, but I am working in a minix X7 Rom with some friends, once we finish it we will port the Rom for more devices, included qx2 and qx1, I hope we can finish the X7 version in a few days, after only a few days to port it to other devices. Comparing Imito and minix official suport, and no color minix have a great hardware and a very good official support, imito..., well, we (qx1 users) know how bad imito official support is

              Flashing on Linux/Mac ?

              Hi,

Thanks for this rom, just received my QX2 and will flash this soon.

I was wondering if it was possible to flash this on either a Linux or Mac platform ? If so, are there instructions somewhere or is it like a ROM for a phone ? If not, do I have to have all the Android SDK and tools install on my Windows platform ?

When I asked a similar question, this was Leolas' reply:

Yes the alternative for Linux ishttp://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?p=77258 and you can use cwm to flash from the stick too

                  Updated libstagefright library ?

                  Hi,

Does this ROM has the updated libstagefright libraries installed ?

I've been trying out XBMC 13 (tried most alpha and nightly builds), which supports native HW decoding with libstagefright, but have not been getting good results. Audio works but there is no video in internet stream. If I disable HW decoding in XBMC, then I get video working again but it is really bad quality, a lot of frame skipping and... (XBMC 12.2 does work much better in this regard).

I've looked online and a lot of people say that they do get HW decoding working quite nicely on RK30, the common denominator seems to be updated firmware though..

If this ROM does not have the updated libstagefright libraries installed, is there a way to install it myself ? Or could I install the Finless 1.5 ROM for QX1 ?

                  Thanks,

                  Nicolas

Yes it is inside, but 13 xbmc version seems work a little worse thay 12, I am not a xbmc guy, my comments are about people said.
QX1 roms will not work in qx2 devices, they will boot but you will lose wifi and BT.

Playng a video from my pc through wireless makes the QX2 reboot.

I have a 1080ps rom installed in my QX2, and I have a problem with media players trying to play something from the network(movies in my PC), the movie starts and then the QX2 just shuts down and restart after a couple of seconds. In XBMC is even worse, it shuts down when loading the video.
the videos I've tried are mkv h.264 1080p and 720p. I think is related to streaming from wireless.
                        Any ideas?
I'm going to try directly from SD card and also from USB and let you know
