Have you ever gotten an antutu score of your overclocked qx1 Kernel at 720P ? I am running at 1080p, and getting a score of 20600. I'm just curious about how much higher that number might grow at 720p.
It works great at 1080p so never use 720p only to test they works, the result must be like 1500 points up with antutu, but I am not sure because I didnt use them for a long time.

Thanks. I'm curious, if only because I'd like a little more performance in emulators. If I get bored, I'll quickflash an OC'ed 720P rom and report back.

Well Leolas, I tried it this morning. When I quickflashed the OC'ed 720P kernel and then ran Antutu - the result was a score increase of only 600, to 21,200. HOWEVER, Antutu is reporting that the stick is still processing at 1080P. Any idea why that happens? Is there any other way to verify that the kernel is 720P or 1080P?

Just to ensure that I didn't make a mistake quickflashing, I repeated the process twice. Quickflashing is almost too easy . . . it feels like cheating.

Double check that you got the kernel that was a 720p one and not one that OC'd the DDR memory to 720

            I just double checked. It's 720p, cpu1800h, ddr800, gpu798.

Is there a step needed before quickflashing to make sure the kernel installs correctly? I might try another 720p kernel just to make sure its not isolated to this one.

Out of home for weekend, on Monday I will try to check.

OK. I tried another 720 kernel and got virtually the same Antutu results. Antutu reports 1080p still. So either the kernel didn't take, or Antutu is screwing up with these results.

When I was running leolas' 1.5a ROM for the QX1 ( which I think has the same kernels as this has )... I didn't use Quickflash to flash them... I used his CWM framework to make a set of kernels that would flash from CWM and I did test a couple of the 720p ROM's before I switched up to the 1080p ones... These worked fine using that method to flash with.

When I had installed the Quickshot v2 ROM... I simply used the prebuilt kernels that are listed in that thread to Quickflash with... Again, those kernels flashed perfectly fine but I can't recall if I tested any of the 720p versions. It was about that timeframe that my QX1 started to fail and I have since returned it for refund.

So as a suggestion... if leolas can recall the link to the CWM framework ( I couldn't find it this morning )... perhaps that is another direction to try.

I finally found the instructions that leolas posted about making a CWM flashable zip file ( the framework I mentioned )... see Some cmw installable zips

The process is very simple for most to follow.

Thanks! But to be honest, I am more interested in finding out why quickflash does or doesn't work.

I know it works with the kernels that Quickshot v2 uses/comes with ... so perhaps its the specific kernels you've chosen to test with or the ROM you are trying it with...

I'm using the quickshot v2 rom, and the kernels it comes with. So that's not it.

Ahh... then you should have posted in that thread, not this one which were for earlier kernels that leolas had made... but, as I mentioned, I didn't have a problem on QS v2 when I had mine...

So sue me. ;-) Just kidding. I made a judgment call because I didnt want to derail Leolas' rom thread with talk of kernels and quickflashing.
