rk3188 tablet kernel sources

I've downloaded sources once they were available as two separate folders, for kernel and ROM, And just yeaterday found this utility in RK3188/RKtools/linux

Unfortunately, looks like there is no way to build a custom KitKat kernel for Pipo tablets right now, M7 in paticular. There is no support four our display in all available sources. If only somebody can make a driver using LTL089CL02 detailed datasheet which I found on Baidu only as pdf non-downloadable preview but very detailed. As for me, seems there is all or almost all needed for skilled person to build a custom driver. Also, many sensor drivers seems to be present in sources but result in many errors during compilation. And drivers in PIPO KitKat kernel at the moment all are AOSP. GPS, auto-brightness, magnetic sensor are not working with these drivers.

Building kernel for linux

Hello,
I've finally bought a Pipo M9 Max.
I'm trying to run linux on it.
From which kernel config should I start to build the kernel ?
(I'd like to flash the kernel.img on the recovery partition and have a linux rootfs on a SDcard)

Ds1006 corresponds to pipo m9, but there are 3 versions of hardware. 1st was in production till April 2013 I assume, second (1 nand chip) after that, and last versions use 2 nand chips, may be there are some other differences, that is my guess only, I have not seen v1_2 unit disassembled.

Pipo firmware identifies v1 as "old pcb". V1.1 and v1.2 kernels seem to be backward compatible, but there are 2 configs for each version in available sources. But remember, those sources are for some other tablet I made some adjustments in there to be built into working kernel for m9.

I did - I built a bootable (but rubbish) kernel for the U30GT2. I keep meaning to do better but never get the time

My pipom9 seems to go into deep sleep.
As for your tablet,it's alot alike m9 but there are plenty of little differencies in system gpios (irqs like). So it may be possible to build a kernel for yours but it's likely impossible without having one.

If someone wants to test here is the kernel with 1.8 cpu,528 ddr (stock on retina pipos) ddr in sleep is 165mhz and slightly undervolted. mali stock. no dead sleep anymore. CIFS,NFS modules plus asix based devices and working HG20F9 module (could not find android supported module,read somewhere it does not exist,so made it myself using hg20f9 github sources) Delivers 48fps in epic citadel,~21500 antutu,3dmark - low 4000s. I recommend to use RileyRom 2 it's really snappy, but you should flash rom with stock kernel,then boot,and then flash only this kernel. with rkandroidtool,swapping kernel.img with this one where needed.
If you are experiencing some misbehavior in cpu or ram tests with this kernel,that means your particular device needs more voltage likely. It should support 3g models,but untested , I have wifi version.
Also please report if you have screen flicker on low brigntess and if your cam's af is working (and does it produce any sound when opening antutu or z-device test).
And sound may be louder then with stock kernel,report whether to make volume lower or not.
And of cause you do it on your own risk .

If somone whats to go extreme I can build a kernel with 768mhz mali and ddr. It worked on my tablet,got 23600 in antutu with 3d part scoring ~5600 (vs 3600 with stock kernel).

Also 696mhz ddr worked fine even with lower voltage then stock retina devices,got 50.4 fps in epic citadel,3d benefits much on ddr speed.

Kernel built for PIPO m9,tested on it. Do not know whether it may work on other devices,I guess not
