Some love for the t428?

The firmware is a single image so it doesn't allow you to change storage parameters or use a different kernel.

I'm not sure about parameters but you can certainly flash a different kernel. Just use the RK tool that comes bundled w/ finless roms. the one that allows you to select each component individually. Then you just make sure to uncheck everything but kernel, select the one you want, plug the t428 while in flash mode, then just flash the kernel. should take about 30 seconds. no need to erase anything, just flash the one component and you're good to go.

i wish there was more development going on as well but it seems that's the state of things. thankfully the x7 roms work and that seems to be a popular device at the moment.

So I can flash just the kernel onto the T428 and that won't affect anything else? Will I have to re-install apps? That's wild.

You're tallking about the Minix X7 I guess. Where do I find Minix X7 ROMs to load onto T428 ?

Well, now this means more research to find out what does and doesn't work on X7 ROMs. Gonna have to save that for another day.

Yup, just flash the kernel and that's it. Everything should be just as you left it. You can go to the about section in settings once it boots to see the kernel version. There is a section for the x7 under android TV players, rk3188 devices, then MINIX x7.
