Well I just finished flashing my YF1211 NB7 with the new 1.5 ROM for 1211, and even though the boot-up is way faster, I am now missing sound. (Even after doing a second reboot ) So just like your 1.4 ROM, the 1211 version of this ROM is causing me sound problems.

I re-flashed back to your 1.4 ROM 1011 and my sound came back. Since your 1.4 ROM 1011 version worked perfectly for me, I will now wait patiently for you to come out with a 1011 version of your 1.5 ROM .

I wonder if there is even a need for a 1211 version of your ROMs if all YF1211 users can use your 1011 ROM? Is there anyone out there who is having problems with the 1011 ROM and must use the 1211 ROM?

In another thread the possibility was discussed that some Nextbooks could be mislabeled due to the wrong sticker being placed on the back of the tablet and box. Could be some refurbed #FY1011 tablets are being sold as new, and thus getting the #FY1211 sticker. My #FY1211 labeled tablet has no problems running the custom Finless #FY1211 or #FY1011 ROMS. However the #FY1211 does seem to run a bit faster on my tablet.

Not sure what anti-virus you're running, but maybe turn it off for a few seconds when downloading and opening the file. Also turn off any anti-malware program. You shouldn't be receiving these false positives.

Battery Issues

Let me make this statement right up.

Unlike other ROMS, I have changed NO functionality. All I did was root it and made a much fatser file system to make it boot faster. The kernel which manages all the charing, screen, devices, etc. I MADE NO CHANGES TO! In fact I would like to do that but NO kernel sources for Arnova have been released! Thus I cannot make any changes to "overall" functionality of the ROM!!! I hope that is clear?

So your charge problem is FOR SURE not a condition of my ROM!!!! Flash back to factory ROM and check.

However, MANY have made this mistake. The are plugging the charge lead into the earphone jack! Make sure your not doing that please... It's also OK to say you did that as everyone here will tell you most of us have done that already!

1.5 not working well for me

Did a clean install. ROM started ok. Rebooted, ROM started ok again.

Did the APP INJECTOR and selected almost everything. Only about half of the apps installed. As an example, I cannot get astro to install. If I go into settings, manage apps, Astro does not show up. I tried several times, still no luck even if I only try to install Astro File Manager alone.

Google play works. I am able to search for Angry Birds and install it. No sounds though.

On the home screen, I have 4 icons at the bottom of the screen. Settings, Apps, ???, Help. The ??? seems to be a launcher but I get a [force close] as soon as I click on it.

The ??? is the stock book reader. If you install Ebook Viewer from the App Injector, it will launch when you click the ??? button at the bottom of the home screen.

Yes, did you mention that you did not have any sound with this 1211 build? If not then definitely try the BETA 1011 1.5c Build here:

Hey i just wanted to report that i installed the new Rom and its working FLAWLESSLY havent run into not one problem. Bob and thr rest of the team thanks for the great work that went into this. While playing around with the new ROM i had a random thought : It's going to be really hard to top this one Bob

Maybe but we are already discussing ideas

How about a easy way to FAKE your device on Google to be something else on the FLY?

How about a status bar that instead of clear, actually goes away when YOU want it to and comes back when YOU want it to?

As for performance which is my forte, I am looking into YAFFS file system. Might be better than the EXT4 we are using now.

So we aint done yet my friend! Well, at least we are trying.. It's a learning process which is why we come out with these new releases. If enough is done that warrents a new ROM, we will do it

The #1211 1.5 has been running like a charm. Feels like I have a completely new tablet. Nice to have the Google Apps I use installed as system apps, as they run and sync much faster than before. As for the Delect app, not knowing what it does, I just installed it as a system app figuring it couldn't hurt...and it takes up little space. Apps I use almost daily, I just installed as user apps in internal memory. They run much faster since they are not on the external SD card where I use to store them. My SD card is now used primarily for larger games and music files.

One question I do have, which may not be on topic, is I use the Kindle app. I have about 700 eBooks. When I do a re-flash (like testing Bob's new roms) or download a Kindle update from the Market, I have to re-download all these eBooks from the Amazon server to my device. Is there a way I can move the folder that contains my eBooks from internal memory to my external SD card and still have the Kindle recognize them? It would save me a lot of re-downloading.

Anyway, again great job all around!

Other than finding where they are stored and possibly copying them yourself, I would think that Titanium backup would back them up.
