    Arnova 7G2 Finless 1.5 Beta Test ROM

    UPDATE April 19 2012.
    The first Beta had issues with the new clear systemUI and the new settings.apk. ROM is nou updated without the clear system UI but a new settings menu. I tested settings using my 10 G2 kernel and it works.

    ROM is now BETA rev b.
    The link below is updated and the new file name is:
    arnova7g2_finless _v1_5b_beta.zip

    Let us know how it works.

    OK folks I am done with the 7G2 1.5 ROM. Since all of the developers involved cannot test this ROM, this is a BETA test. You guys tell us what works and what does not. I also cannot flash the 7G2 ROM on my 10G2 unlike other ROMs, so I cannot tell if this is a brick ROM. But based on experience it should be OK.
    I believe this will be the production ROM too but only your testing will let us know!

    Note, unlike the 10G2 this is using the same kernel as the 7G2 1.4 ROM as Arnova has not released a new kernel. It also has 3G support like the 1.4 ROM.

    PLEASE READ THE README in the ROM kit for even more details!




    Please test and report the following:

    1) Overall ROM Performance and Stability
    2) Petrus' App Injector. Did it work and find the package.zip? Did it inject apps properly? Did they work?
    3) Miklaus' updated settings.apk. Please try to test all the menus in settings. Let us know what should be removed or things that cause a force close that should work. Your feedback here gives you a better settings menu!
    4) Mikalus Clear Status Bar. Does it work and look good and is usable?
    5) The WPA supplicant. Does it work like before and give you adhoc?
    6) Please try not to report bugs that are in the stock ROM. There is not much we can do about them at this time.

    Hang tight guys. I pulled the ROM as I used the wrong kernel.img

    I am re-uploading it now.

      OK file dL is fixed. since I have heard no feedback what so ever, I assume no one downloaded the bad upload from before?

        1.5 7g2 rom

        installation went well? but settings force closes so am unable to reinstall titanium to restore anything. reinstalled 1.4 for now.

          OK thanks, I will let Miklaus know. Again none of us can test this stuff so a little mistake in developing the settings.apk and SystemUI.apk can cause problems. BUT that is what the BETA test is for

          Stay tuned we will try to fix it.

                  CRAP!

                  Your right. I specifically downloaded the file and yep.... zip is corrupt. WTF?

                  OK I am reuploading again. Not sure why this is happening this week. Never had this problem before but it appears my FTP uploads are not completing fully. I will investigate that but in the mean time I will confirm every upload for a while.

                  Stay tuned I will post when the file is back up.

                  I am really sorry for this inconvenience but trust I will get it sorted out.

                      Everything seems to be fine now. I had to fiddle with Market to get it to let me log in and my browser bookmarks didn't make it, but I think the backups got screwed up some how.

                      Good job guys - I'm a happy camper now.

                        help? everytime I go to 'add an account' in the settings, it cycles back to the boot image like it's restarting. How do I add an account?!

                            The google framework files are not in the ROM unless you use APP Injector to inject at least goole play. Without that the accounts and sync will not work. I should probably state this in the instructions. Accounts and sync was removed by Arnova because they also did not include the google framework. Miklaus added the menu but until the files exist on the system, it will just crash. So again use app injector and inject google play BEFORE trying to use accounts and sync.

                              Thank you for your work, really good fimware. Is there any way to hide the status bar in some apps, because some games are not working correctly.
                              And i found a bug, brightness settings not working it's forcing to close.
