No, Phjanderson used the patchomatic tool to binary-patch the Minix stock kernel.

That's very odd. Maybe a full/half duplex thing? Was it the same with both WiFi and Ethernet?

EDIT: For me Ethernet, at least, seems to be working at full speed. I have a 100/10 connection and the Ookla speedtest app reported approx. 72/10 as the average of three tests.

Dont now. But it is strange. The kernel i use now is superfast and stable. A keeper..

I tested WiFi a bit more yesterday and noticed the same thing. WiFi (2,4GHz) connects to my router at 65Mb/s but the actual transfer speeds as reported by Ookla are ~20/10. Ethernet works very well (~70/10).

Very strange. One would assume that the stock kernel had been compiled from the same sources Peter made available.

Could somebody test this kernel back to back with e.g. one included in Finless 1.7 and report Ookla speedtest results when using WiFi? If there is a significant speed difference between them please send me (or post here) the relevant log dumps as well.

I recently flashed finless oc kernel 1080 1700cpu 878gpu 720ddr and I'm pretty happy with the performance of the device. Performs slightly better if I flash the other kernel option, all same but DDR 800. Noticed the unit gets slightly hotter though so I reverted back to 720 DDR.

Question, how were these thresholds determined? Why not DDR 1ghz? Why max 800drr? Also my os3 still gets hotter then this when over clocked. What are odds of cooking my MINIX neo x7 to death using these over clock kernels?

The device becomes too unstable at higher frequencies over the Max values stated. Also, the values were tested for best video performance. I would say that the 720ddr with 600ish gpu is fairly optimum, 800 is going a bit too far and many devices crash at this level. There's always a chance you can damage your device but the Neo x7 runs fairly cool and I've over clocked it since I've had It (a few months now) and I've had no problems at all.

                              Thanks for the response. Cheers!

For me I found I get less crashes if I run it with 800ddr instead of 720 but device noticeably gets warmer. What kernel do you use? Cheers

Two words (sorry, an acronym and a word): CAS latency.
