    Pipo M9 Max RileyROM 2.2

I know, it's only been a few days since I released v2.1, but I ran across another firmware update dated 10/29/13...so I put together a new ROM.

The firmware filename indicated "pure" version, which I discovered was a Chinese release with no bloatware added to it...no extra apps, no Pipo Launcher, no nothin'......

    This ROM is:

An optional kernel is named ockernel.img in the RileyROM folder, you can flash it by clicking the browse box next to the kernel line in the flash tool and highlight the ockernel.img file.

If you want to switch kernels back and forth, you can without having to re-flash the whole ROM by unchecking everything but the kernel in the flash tool....and don't erase IDB before flashing. This overclocked kernel has been tested by a few users and runs quite well and makes a huge difference in speed, however there is a certain amount of risk associated with overclocking (much less flashing a custom ROM in the first place)...so think about the consequences...such as increased battery drain and overheating and death (of your tablet, not you). (I know, it sounds like a drug commercial...but I gotta say it...hahahaha!!!!)

I do recommend that you flash the whole ROM the first time and do erase IDB when you do so.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
Debloated to the max (already done by Pipo)
    Init.d Support
    English Default
    Busybox commands added
    CWM Recovery as an option
    Multi-User support added
4, 8 or 12gb user app space as an option.

    Bootanimation by Tattman65
    Reboot app by Petrus
First Time User's Guide by Pr0xZen
    Flash Tool by Finless

    Download

I also ported the system of this ROM for the OLD PCB tablets. It still has the same old kernel, but there may be some improvement. Just compare and see.

    Enjoy!!!!!!

Randy, is the ockernel one of the new ones developed by dnkn or is it the same one we had in version 2.1?

Installed, wifi stayed on after reboot unlike rr2.0 & 2.1, skype working fine, been working fine since ver rr1.9b.

Can't tell whether there's performance improvement bcoz tablet reboots itself when running quadrant or antutu.

ps: Usually I don't touch boot animation but this round I changed it coz it's making me dizzy

looks good only thing has chinese weather app, could do with removing. Also any chance of bundling in nicer looking boot animation? Something like this

also probably no need for apkinstaller, apkinjector, explorer, downloads, video as alternative versions available? ES file manager will do all that, or MX player...

                recalibrating M9 touch panel

Installed Rileyrom v 2.2 Everything fine so far. Noticed that now on Setcpu I have option of pushing frequency above 1.8 GHz even though my model is 1.6. Is it safe to push even a little above 1.6 ?

Also I'm still having problem with touch panel after unsuccessful flash of v2.0 rom. It seems to me it is not a hardware problem, because it still reacts, but in a very odd way. I was thinking about recalibrating or resetting it if possible, but didn't do it before. Any suggestions?

Hopefully Riley reposts the link with it a little modified without the chinese weather app and whatever little mistakes are left in. Waiting on a little more feedback on performance from users before i flash.

                    Thank you very much.

I'm already downloading it. I will test it later.

                          that firmware should be old
for super stability and no issues always use the latest official firmwares from Pipo

Might be old, but most stable rom ive tried, inc no sound issues, no media playback issues, no frame rate issues, no skype , list goes on etc etc. Riley does fantastic roms ive been there and tried earlier ones!

Usually theres more feedback on roms by now, why im waiting on more feedback

does the free version of titanium backup do that, I mean, uninstall system apps?
