-unzip it to your sd card
-on your tablet open the File Manager app and go to the sd card
-In the 701iRoot folder you will find the apk files to install
1 - click on Root Explorer v2.19. Install it and then run it.
2 - As directed by Nux At the top of the screen is a gray box saying "Mount R/O" tap it and it will change to "Mount W/R". Note: We could not get the permissions to change. My son had already installed the Amazon app and changed some settings. We had to reset the device to factory and then reinstalled Root Explorer. We could then change the permissions without a problem.
3 - Back to File Manager, at the SD Card, browse to 701iRoot/gapps 2.3.4/
4 - Install the Vending-3.1.3 apk
5 - Install the OneTimeInitializer apk
All done.
I included the Slide Me apk in the zip file if you want it.

Important to note is that the root must be done early on and before any other apps go for root permissions/access. If that happens a factory reset will need to be done with a possible internal SD wipe as well.
I'll edit the original post and add a link to the link you've made also perhaps admin can sticky the walk though so it doesn't get buried in the pages here.

Hind sight is golden!

That made gapps half installed and even with root explorer unable to get it working your correct way. But by taking the new google play unzipping it and replacing some system apps I got it working. If I had bothered to read your instructions first it would have saved me alot of time.
At least you got it going now.

Before ppl ask, here's how you "backup an app",
You'll need ES File Explorer and a SD card for transfer (you could transfer via USB as well).
1)Open ES explorer and at the top right of the title menu choose "App Mgr" (the gears icon).
2)Find the app you want to keep and do a long press & a menu pops up, choose "Backup".
3)Use the back button then choose the "backup" folder, then the "apps" folder (the app will be in there).
4)Long press the app you just backed up and choose "Copy" form the pop up menu.
5)Now choose "Favorites" from the top left title bar menu (the star icon).
6)Choose "mnt/extsd" (the SD icon).
7)There is a pull up tab at the bottom of the screen, swipe it up and you'll see the app you copied.
8)Long press and choose "Paste" from the pop up menu.
Now the app is on your SD and you can transfer it to another device etc... Try backing up several then use the "Paste All" menu option.

I have just been searching on google for the last bit and sideloading any apps I can't get from the market, it works just time consuming. If someone can figure out how to edit this tablet to where google thinks its another device we can probably download most straight from themarket, I have read about other tablets having that done. I think they usually use Nexus S as to what google thinkjs the device is.
