Carried out tests using my catalogue of videos using the default settings, with no modification.

There is a definite improvement in quality of playback.

Some 4k videos play perfectly and others have slight micro stutter, mainly towards the back end of playback.

Standard 720p/1080p videos generally play very well and noted that with the Tears of Steel 1080p, although there is still an offset in video/audio, it is greatly reduced.

A definite step forward.

The only 4k video that would not play at all was the eutelsat demo.

Latest beta on rk3288 still wont play live streams (h.264 TS) perfectly, I cant get deinterlacing to work. On latest beta using RKStagefright I don't even have option to turn it on. On 13.3.3 using Stagefright turning deinterlacing on or off makes no difference. Opening same streams on MX Player results in perfect playback. And still, thanks to Koying, I can at least watch them, as playing streams in gotham or kodi results in black screen with sound. If anyone have any advice how to make deinterlacing work, it would be appreciated!

Only problem with RK3288 device (maybe others...) is about liveTV crashing... It's working on Kodi (strange because not many things working on )

Maybe can i modify setup for that ?

Hi.. So i bought a rikomagic box with a rk3288 chip. I was having problem when playing video with audio passthrough (when i activated it frames dropped from 23.98 to 21-22..) so i needed to deactivate the pass though if i wanted to see movies.
then i saw this thread and i installed the spmc 13.3.4 and now the picture is alot smoother.. But when i activate passthrough i dont have sound anymore - only Noise. The movie has both 7.1 DTS-hd and ac3 5.1. (It is not the same noise if i swap to 7.1 - it sounds like a chopper)
My AMP is a sony dn1040 and normly it display Dolby digital in the display when using the preinstalled xbmc - but now nothing works with spmc when using pass through..

i have the setting in android to hdmi bit and i have tried deactivate some of the option in passthrough setting and also some of the options in decoding method..

if you have any suggents to make it work i would be very glad

I am having a similar problem with the passthrough enabled. The Surround Sound indication is flashing too as per some of my previous SPMC tests. Would be interesting to read if clarkss12 still has the echo problem on his receiver.

From my understanding, there are several different "boards" for the RK3288 hardware. If your "board" is one of the ones like Beelink R89 or Tronsmart R29 or similar, it will work. Not sure about brands that use the other "boards".

Rockchip added Ac3 & DTS passthrough to new firmware.
It uses ffmpeg, can SPMC utilize it? Probably only stock video player.

Well, does PT work with a standard Kodi/XBMC on a new firmware?
If it doesn't, then they implemented a hack of their own...
