    3G or Wifi?

Is this ROM for the 3G version of the M6 Pro or for the Wifi-Only version?

    Thanks,

    Wolf

            Pipo M6 Pro RileyROM 1.4

This rom comes with the Rockchip Driver Installer app. Try it and see if it works.

I recommend flashing my ROMs via a PC.

              Randy,

I appeaciate you're probably very busy but could you spare a moment to answer these questions:

              1) I have RileyRom 1.4 installed. The stock keyboard gesture/swipe feature doesn't work despite being enabled. Do you know why that might be, and is there a fix?
              2) Also, my tablet sometimes switches itself off when in deep sleep. Any ideas why?
              3) As a result of the above I am going to re-flash with stock ROM - the 'unofficial' one released at the end of November. Can your parameter files be used in conjunction with the stock ROM?

              Thanks.

Can someone from PiPO tell us what tablet will get Android 4.4 KitKat?

Anna YeI am not sure about this, I think most of our tablet will get Android 4.4 in the future.

I'm pretty sure now 1.4 is based on "official" firmware... Also with the Kitkat update for U8 and this message the future is looking bright for our Pipo tablets.

                  1. I haven't tested that yet...I don't know what the problem may be. I'll check.

                  2. Again, I'm not big on deep sleep...I usually just turn my tablet off when I'm not using it, so I haven't encountered that problem...but I'll test and see.

                  3. The parameter files are unique to My ROM based on the file sizes I produce, and won't be of use for the stock ROM. I'm not sure how you would be able to flash them, anyway.

Pipo just released a KitKat firmware for the U8 tablet, which I've downloaded (about 10 minutes ago, so I haven't even looked at it yet).

I have a U8 tablet being shipped to me right now, so I'll be testing it. Whenever the KitKat appears for the M6 Pro, I'll at least have an idea on what I need to do to make a KitKat ROM. Stay tuned!!!!!!

                      Thank you.

When you say you just turn off your tablet, do you mean a complete power-down, ie long press of the power button? I just do a quick press of the power button to put it into standby and expect it to come on again next time I press the power button. Sometimes it does, sometimes not - usually after a long period in standby mode.

Erm, I've never flashed the stock ROM and not even sure how to do it, so I was just clutching at straws with the parameter question.

Flashing the stock firmware is done with the RKBatchTool. I have it in my ROM kit as an alternative tool to use to switch to flash mode. Just download the firmware from Pipo...open the BatchTool...load the firmware to the tool and flash using the "upgrade" button.

Here is a link to further instructions...part English/part Chinese. It applies to any Rockchip device.

1.4 feels faster, but Antutu is somewhat slower?

I installed 1.4 on my M6Pro 32GB, and again it went all very smooth.

It all feels good and quick, but somehow the Antutu score is a bit lower?
Now I have 19109 with screen set to normal, but with 1.3a I had 20103.

Since I am a newby, my question is: is it possible to use the "kernel" part from 1.3a in this 1.4 ROM?

Will keep on testing and post my results.

                          Thanks for your input.

Also my results are lower, but everything is clearly faster, so the antutu results are useless for me!!!
About kernel, I've posted modified kernels for the 1.4 version on the relevant thread!

Much of what is done with a firmware update is inside the kernel. It is possible to flash the older kernel, but you defeat the purpose of the firmware update because you revert back to the previous kernel's configuration.

However, with the M6 Pro we have found in the past that different combinations of kernels and ROM's produce some positive results. It's OK to experiment.

I would stick with the same kernel...or an OC kernel that is based on the one that came with the current firmware.

I agree with you, but with this firmware, the tablet general use is responsive, so how is important a number in antutu? Even if my antutu was 1.000points I didn't care of it if my impression is a more responsive tablet.
