Pipo U6 RileyROM 1.2

This ROM is based on a Pipo OTA update dated 12/03/2013. No change log available. These tablets are new enough that there isn't much traffic, but safe to say this might be a very popular device for the 7" crowd.

Thanks to my friend and mentor 900Superport, we've been putting together a new ROM developer's kitchen that is making the process a whole lot faster and implementing some new features as well.

Instructions for flashing are in the First Time User's Guide included in the flash kit.

On first boot, the system automatically installs CWM Recovery after the stock recovery has formatted everything correctly to begin with. So no need to flash CWM yourself.

Also, any apk file you have in a folder named autoinstall on the external sd card will install. Just make sure there are no spaces in the file names of the apk files you add to the folder. This is not intended to restore ALL of your apps. Some apps, like Titanium Backup, do NOT like being installed this way. But if you have any useful utility apps you wish to add at first boot, it will install them. Just watch them populate in the app drawer after first boot. Once they are all there, give it a few more seconds to install CWM Recovery...then you are good to go.

PS: The default parameter is 4 GB, not 2 GB. Kinda important when you don't have a lot of space. :P

I found a problem with this ROM, my camera doesn't work anymore... It shows a lot of pixels and a big pink background...The camera app on the front doesn't work either. It's not the camera app, I have tried a 3rd party app too and it doesn't work either.

The same problem didn't happen on V1.1. I don't know about 1.0.

So what's the go with 1.2? Has everyone whose flashed it having the camera issue? I've flashed my U6 with ver 1.0, and all seems well. Should I go to 1.1? Btw, this is my first Tab, so Android is very new to me. Many thanks to Riley for the great work.

Installed 1.2, same camera issue as others, also I may have found another issue with 1.2 - HDMI, no picture, just sound. Tried toggling through different resolutions, and the TV recognises the different scan changes, but no picture unfortunately. HDMI worked fine on my Tab with Riley Rom 1.0, so I don't think it's my Tab. Anyone else got this issue with 1.2?

I reflashed to 1.1 and that's been fine for me, HDMI and camera all working. I've had no stability issues with 1.1 either, but it is early days.
