It should performe quite well. Look on youtube. I'm still looking for its firmware to flash on my measy u4k.

Lol.. look at the desciption... it uses mali400mp4 ( not powervr )

I also.. checked out this cs918s unit.. (aliex 45euro)
Some youtube vids are lies.. it shows a cs918 unit.. its missing the android logo on the box
-same antutu score as rk3188 was the clue (1ghz a31 vs 1.6 ghz )
-- geekbuying desc.. kuch.. 4k using mali400 lol

I was thinking about buying one...( for fun )... but no reseller could provide a firmware for the unit
-with-out fw.. i would not even consider buying one

This device has just hit the market. Allow it some time and you'll see the fw.

Antutu score 14k isn't bad for a 1ghz
I wonder if xbmc (vidon.tv) runs good on this unit?

Small note.. the build.prop has no stagefright entrys.. like my mk823 does

This device performs very well. I have used both this and the original CS918 - The CS918S performs much better (IMO).

I have purchased more than one unit - they came with:
Firmware Version: v1.0rc3
Kernel: 3.3.0 ck@ck-desktop #42

Has pre-installed launchers... Im thinking this is not the stock ROM.

I'm having problem with one of the units freezing/restarting after about 2 minutes of use...
Im going to try flashing the stock ROM posted above.. Hopefully that will fix the issue.. I am having doubts though as the other unit has the same ROM and runs fine.

Any suggestions? Could it be overheating?

I guess overheating is one of the problems for A31. So, try modding.

I don't believe so.. Because the other two A31 devices (CS918S) are running fine.. I think this device is a one off problem.

What do you suggest I do to fix the overheating problem?

A small radiator attached to the CPU should do fine. For the defective unit try to reflash firmware. This may solve the issue.

Hello @ all

I am new to the Android Media Player.
I have the CS918S.
Mine only has XMBC 13 alpha 4, and I think I need Alpha 7 or higher to use the Hardware decoding available.
I downloaded the Firmware from the link above, but I do not know how to install.
If anyone would be so kind to teach me?
