    Hi Pavlik,

    I want to install Wasser's KitKat firmware on my K-R42 1340 board also. I have installed it on my Minix X7 and really like it.

    Can you please make clear which Kernel you are using?

    Kernel-k-r42-new.img
    Kernel-k-r42-old.img
    Kernel-k-r42-ut1.img

    Are you saying kernel-ut1.img works, but the others make the unit constantly reboot???

    Thanks
    George

      For first time I've used Kernel-k-r42-new.img and Kernel-k-r42-old.img and all of them works fine until reboot. So the last one was Kernel-k-r42-ut1.img and it works after reboot. I've tested it by 2 hours and it hangs one time on xbmc on one of video plugin's (xbmc hangs not android because rc11 works). You need to test it yoursef to make sure. Wait more time after first stand up.

        Thanks Pavlik for clearing that up. I will test with all 3 this week. Hopefully my K-R42 will not be stuck with the reboot problem with the old & new Kernels.

          Last night I flashed my K-R42 1340 board with Wasser's KitKat firmware using the "Kernel-k-r42-new.img" kernel. The K-R42 booted up just fine in KitKat and after unplugging it and powering it back on, it boots fine without doing a constant reboot. I have the power button permentally pressed so it powers up when plugged in. It was running all night without any problems.

          I ran Antutu before flashing firmware...
          Antutu score = 17980
          cpu = 1608 mhz

          after flashing KitKat...
          Antutu score = 17661
          cpu = 1416 mhz

          I'm not sure if it is worth pushing the 1388 with OC kernels. Especially since it is possible the K-R42 may have a 1388-T chip installed. No way to know for sure since there is a heatsink on the chip.

          I am much more concerned about stability.

          I still need to test if everything is working correctly. Wifi looks great.

          Thank you Wasser for this Firmware. I will send a donation today.

              Hi dobosz23,

              I would like to help, but I do not understand the question. I do not believe my board can run the "kernel K-R42 old" version, but I am not an expert on which version boards can take old, and which can take new.

              I think it is if your board is lower than 1332, you need "Old"
              if your board is higher than 1335, you need "New"

              The Kernel that I used "Kernel -k-r42-new.img" is reporting 1416cpu, so it is not over clocked.

              Hope this helps.
