[NETFLIX FIXED!!] Simplified V6 Supercharger for Allwinner A10 ICS[RECOMMENDED!]

Hello friends. I've had a chance to test this on my PMID701c with shawn's ICS rom, and I must say there has been a VERY NOTICABLE boost in performance! However, the best part about applying this for me has been NetFlix from the market is now 100% working with 0 audio sync issues!! I recommend that anyone with ICS needing NetFlix to work properly do this right away, you will be very happy

Forgive my pessimism... but can I ask just how long you've been using Netflix with this setup? Have you successfully made it through multiple videos in their entirety?

I noticed better Netflix performance over the stock gingerbread on my 701C when I installed Shawn's ICS rom. Netflix streams beautifully in fact. The audio and video are in perfect sync...the problem is it freezes between 5 and 15 minutes into a video. I'm assuming you've made it through multiple videos on Netflix to know it genuinely fixes things?

I'm not trying to be a pain. I just want to be sure. This is great if it genuinely fixes Netflix. However this is also a pain in the arse for a novice to go through only to find out Netflx freezes 15 minutes into a stream.

I just watched the first 5 episodes of LOST on netflix (each about 45 minutes long) without a single hitch. As mentioned above I also noticed an immediate change in general performance also. It's very simple to do, and definitely worth a try. If you'd like me to be there with you while your do it, add me on skype: ArtistLogic

Thanks artist! I'm sure I can handle it...it doesn't seem all that difficult. I was more or less thinking of the others who will find this thread searching for a way to make netflix work. I'd hate for a total greenhorn to have to wade through the needed steps only to find out Netflix streams great until it freezes 15-20 minutes in.

It seems like you are having success with it for sure! I'm probably going to give this a try later on tonight. I don't know what actual performance tweaks the script makes...have you noticed any increase in temperature? My 701C gets a little toasty...not sure I want to significantly increase it's temp

          Script Again

          Once More,

I have supplied within my Market Script fixes for video and such with modified /etc/permissions

XML mods that address this Netflix issue.

Not being sarcastic, however we may want a scripts tab around here if we have 10 or so scripts floating around instead of scattering them about? Just a suggestion.

SUPERCHARGER = ? mixed results in my opinion

I installed your market script after I installed Shawn's ICS rom on my 701C. One of the main reasons is because I was hoping your changes would fix Netflix. I must admit, the newest version of the Netflix app runs beautifully for about 5 to 15 minutest. Then it just freezes.
When it does run it runs well and everything is in sync.

                  Question

Does this work only with the 701c - ICS ROM or can I use it if I like the Gingerbread ? Reason is I cant get root to work on the 701C ICS ROM. I can flash via LiveSuit , I can ROOT the 701C GB ROM . Just cant root 701c ICS. Plus waiting to see when I get cord if I lose my TV Out with the 701c ICS ROM.

****** THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP !!!! This place has helped me out a lot on the tabs *******

This is the closest I've seen to a fix. Some videos just will not play right for some reason. I keep trying How I Met Your Mother but I keep getting crashes. Mind you I haven't ran the whole script yet but I'm about to try it.

Unfortunately this script didn't work with me. The Marketplace fix was the closest thing to a fix for me on the 701C running ICS. But I agree with your observation Netflix does seem to react differently depending on the video being played. Even with the marketplace fix from liquidlimez, some videos play through just fine without issue, and some will just freeze at some point. If I view the same point of the same video on a different device (Xbox 360, WII, or PC) it will play just fine. Weird!!

It seems to play older videos without a commercial break very good. Or long videos/movies. But the shows with a lull point like Sons of Guns or How I Met Your Mother just crash after 90 some odd seconds. Maybe it is the decoding of a higher resolution too, I dunno. I mean it could be a plethora of things. I know that I've stayed up many of nights trying to figure it out. Including the last 6 hours of this night. The fix is close.

The source code for these tablets is out there somewhere. They are preparing for the next dual-core boxchip so they will abandon this technology here in 2 months or so. I also hear that 4.0.4 has software decoding which might fix it all.....

I fixed my Netflix freezing issue by going into my account on the Netflix site and knocking the video quality down to "better." I have the 701i with stock ROM, ICS running Netflix 1.6.0. Plays full-length movies flawlessly with great picture quality.

This is actually working with all of my allwinner tablets with the "better" setting. I've been playing videos for a few days now. There's not that much difference between better & best.

I'm pretty sure the problem is with the Mali drivers and HD decoding. Supposedly there are uniform drivers coming out in the next week or so that will fix this.
