You did the right choice picking cs918s, because measy is not at all active in further fw development once they throw a new product in the market. I wrote them many times to provide the the stock firmware for my u4k and they've never bothered to reply. So, I would suggest to avoid their products.

I know Measy quite well, I was chatting with my contact there yesterday. We don't currently use them as a supplier as they don't have the engineering resource we require from a supplier. On my last visit they had one in house hardware engineer and no in house software engineering. This is very common with Chinese manufactures, almost all buy in designs so one design house is suppling dozens of manufactures. Measy can make basic hardware layout changes but contract out all software changes. If you want the img file for a product they have made in the past I can probably get it but they won't have the source or bug fixes.

Right now I would like to find the design house for the CS918S. I have been making tablets using the A20 but the design house we partnered with on that project are not too sharp, we exceeded there knowledge within a few weeks of working with the A20. The CS918S looks like it would make a good kick off point for a new player our customer wants but as we only make about 30K units PA it is hard to get AllWinner to talk to us. Having experince with building A20 system firmware I'm hoping the A31 builds will be similar.
