T-R42 2.0 Board Firmware by lewy20041

This firmware is for people that have new revisions of T-R42 (latly some users get this insted of K-R42 they ordered) I would like to ask for the feedback so i can know if everything is working as it should.
I will also ask to not post about this firmware anywhere else than freektab to make sure that firmware is stable and noone unexpirienced flashed the firmware and complain. That said lets go to the firmware futures

-based on latest stock firmware
-debloated (striped down to minimum, all deleted orig apps are in downloaded package if anyone need them)
-rooted
-new wallpaper
-"x" bootanimation
-replaced hidebar and power button on systembar
-spoofed as galaxy s3
-some wifi and streaming fixes in build.prop
-kernel choice 720p or 1080p (default 720p)
-720p freq changed (516Mhz-1600) + vsync fix

I just ordered mine 2 Weeks ago. How can i find out wich bord i have? i had problems with your hybrid FW. There i couldn´t get the Ethernet to work.

i think i would like to test this FW if i know which board i have.

Hello Lewy,

Is this the same custom firmware you develloped on the thread entitled " "Geekbuying sent me the wrong items."? If so, is there any need to change the remote .kl file that you uploaded there so that the "OK" remote control button would work?

Anyway it's a shame that the chinese manufacturers change the composants without letting us know and hence we are stuck with their pre-historic stock Rom and losing the chance of enjoying custom ROMs people develloped for previous versions of the K-R42

Just to make things clear; I ordered an K-R42 and got a T-R42 B351_V2.0, in the stock ROM I can see the bluetooth toggle but it's not working

I understand that lewy, what I am not sure about if the K-R42 that I received is actually a T-R42 or not since the bluetooth does not work on the stock ROM(I can check the box to activate it but nothing happens).

the only advice i can give you is to try it and if something is not working go for k-r42 stock firmware.

I have an EKB311. It is also known as an AC8350 (BX09).

Importantly it does NOT have bluetooth.

I tried the K-R42 Lewy HFW, I tried both Wasser ROMs, old and new revision. Nothing worked. CWM recovery didn't work. I had a Chinese stock ROM which I did manage to root, but that was it. I was getting quite annoyed with flashing stuff that didn't boot, especially as I had the non-bluetooth unit so thought at least something should work.

This ROM did! Interestingly, I get the bluetooth option in the settings but it will not turn on. I'm happy as I was not expecting bluetooth. Everything else works. LAN, Wifi, 1080p. It all works. I can now boot into recovery (not by hitting the recovery button, but by holding it and hitting power).

Small note - I have found mirracast a bit unstable. Never tested it in stock and not particularly worried at this point. Interested in what other people are experiencing. I'm using a Nexus 5.

Also, quick question - you mention logitec webcam drivers. I have a C270 (pretty sandard). Is there anything I would need to do to make this work as a system camera (and mic if possible). Doesn't seem to work in Skype.

It should worj out of the box. Try older skype 3.2

In fact yes when geekbuying said yeah we did not have k-R42 available and instead we sent a more expensive one T-R42, it was a lie or let's say ...they did not know. what they actually sent is a K-R42 with a new board, the B351_V2.0; that is why all the previous custom firmwares from lewy and wasser did not work.
so again, this new firmware that lewy made in this thread works for the K-R42 with the new revision B351_V2.0, it shows that you have blutooth but it actually does not exist.
Having said so, the ROM is smooth, no forced closure, no reboots, and the google tv youtube is awesome.
The only point is that the "OK" button from the remote doesn't work. I have a MELE F10 air mouse, so it's not an issue for me.
I hope there will be further devellopement for this ROM because the start was great.

Tried your new ROM and it can boot up successfully.
However the wifi and the ethernet are both not working.
And after few minutes the box will just hang. The pointer won't move and have to unplug the power to reset the device.

My device is working with the following original firmware, the original firmware from geekbuying doesn't work with my device :

I tried to open it, but All I did was badly scratch the case. It seems to be glued shut pretty well. If you have any advice on opening let me know.

The fact that neither of the wasser firmwares work leads me to believe I have a different hw setup all together. I think they use the T-R42 hardware but don't implement bluetooth instead of using either K-R42 revisions. I therefore believe there are now 3 separate non-bluetooth hardware profiles.
