    Installation
    How to install CWM Recovery

Just copy the rom zip file to an SD Card and insert it into your MK808B
    1) Install - http://www.mediafire.com/download/4s...t.arctools.apk
    2) On the first screen select RK3066 Recovery from the drop down list, download and install it.
    3) Select Reboot to recovery from the second tab of the app.
    3) In CWM Recovery - Install zip from SD Card -> choose zip from external SD Card -> specify the firmware file, click YES.
    After the installation, reboot.

    Post Installation

Remember to change animations to 0.5s in developer settings, enable GPU for 2D rendering and disable HW overlay.
Also run Pimpmyrom for some extra usefull network & speed tweaks.
There is also an enable/disable Vsync setting in Pimpmyrom, but don't know if it works.

    Download link
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

    For MK808 devices
Just replace the kernel in the zip file with an overclocked MK808, Android 4.1, 720p 3.0.8 kernel from here - http://www.multiupload.nl/L2LWQ0N3GC
Remember to rename the kernel to kernel.img before replacing it in the rom's zip file.
PS: Kernels with GPU > 400mhz don't work properly and will actually make your device slower.

    XBMC
The latest nightly versions play video very slow +-8 fps on libstagefright as well as mediacodec and some videos just freeze. Install the latest nightly version alongside it and see for yourself.
This XBMC version actually play videos better than the Feb 19 XBMC build that had some of the best video playback. 1080p Videos that had a lot of dropped frames on the Feb 19 build now play with very little frame drop.

Thanks to user digitop on 4pda for creating the original rom which this is based on.

Using H/W+ mode in MXPlayer, videos play smooth.
1080p videos also play smooth in XBMC, the best so far.
The included kernel is 720p, but there is a 1080p upscaled option in the display settings.
Haven't tried a true 1080p kernel so far, as this kernel works just fine for me.

              Yes change build.prop to
              ro.product.model=GT-I9300 &
              ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung
then it can work on other roms too.

Considering you posted kernels you didn't check that didn't work, with myself and various other people trying to get over the 266mhz limit to work on stock kernels via rkpatcher with no success, I still don't believe that there are kernels for the mk808b that can run at that speed.

I have seen zero documentation, or evidence from you that you have actually got this to work, as 400mhz would be enough to do true 1080p on a 1080p kernel, with XBMC running at 60fps.

1080p should work flawlessly on the Ouya build at 266mhz considering these roms are working at a paltry 720p limit. I will give the MiniX versions a try at some point, but the Ouya build has zero issues and I'm in no hurry to waste time on something that doesn't need fixing.

This is not me criticizing, this is me trying to clarifiy the situation - simply saying if you have got this to work, show how so that something useful, like true 1080p on the mk808b can actually be done.
                Currently Using:
2 x Nvidia Shield TV | MiniMX III
                Retired Devices:
                MiniMX III-II | Mk808b Pro | Mk808b Plus | Raspberry Pi 1 + 2 | UBOX R89 | MK808 | MK808b | CS008 | X1 4K (rk3288_809) | CYX_809III | Ouya | CX-919 | S82 Plus | Tronstmart R68

Thank you for pointing that out. I am also interested in further information about the 400mhz GPU kernel. Is there even a proper way to check GPU frequencies?

Trie one of this kernel for mk808b
In the firts place this one - kernel_cpu1416_gpu400_ddr533 - and tell me if it works for you.

I'm in the process of testing this. Using the completely maxed out kernel for 720p. I'll do that and then go to the middle one and see which way I need to go till I get the most stable performer.

I have no reason to care about the 1080p kernels. I guess if I had a bigger TV, but anyway, back in a few with a report.

EDIT: First observation. Mine is not stable with the 1608/400/533 kernel. Full report when I've tested it thoroughly, but so far (after I backed the CPU down to 1.4ghz via the included app) XBMC will not play 720p video satisfactorily. That means is skips so many frames the movie is unwatchable. @ 1.6ghz setting it can't even make an effort. Stutters constantly. There are so many kernels to choose from it'll take a while to see what's the best one.

I'm trying to find a stable 1608 kernel first. Do you already know that the 1608 variants won't work?

It takes lots of time to test them because SD card is slow.

                            I now that.
Because of that i post only the 1416 version of the kernel.

Sweet. That saves me some time. Now to repack the zip, again.

EDIT: Mine does not like the 1416/400/533 kernel either. Still dropping too many frames. Testing ddr 466 now. Back in a few.

Should add I have a 2000mA PS for the MK and an additional 500mA PS just for USB devices on a hub. The 1608/400/533 kernel wouldn't even hold on to the USB HDD I had plugged in long enough for XBMC to search for videos.
