    ampak ap6476

    With your info,
This multifunction chip, according to its DS is the :
    AMPAK AP6476 WiFi + BT4.0 + FM RX + GPS

Meaning that fm receiver is included !?, could have been cool that pipo used it !

      CAUTION!!!

I said I was not able to find on the internet any teardown tutorial,
it is not true anymore; googling for "ap-6476 wifi pipo.cn" today made me stumble upon many pictures and some chinese comments https://www.google.fr/url?sa=t&rct=j...,d.d2k&cad=rja

this guy seems to have gone to the far end in dismantling his m7pro tablet.

I was shocked to discover down the page that what we all have thought to be the wifi antenna was in fact the GPS one !!!

      Geeez,
I did in fact modify the wrong antenna,
I did not test GPS reception since my mod, but I anyway have met my initial expectation...for wifi !

      WTF !!?

The GPS antenna usually is the long wire one.
As far as I know you made the little mod on the wi-fi antenna.

What is written in that chinese forum is definitely WRONG!!! I've tested it and the GPS antenna is FOR SURE the long single wire!

I will not mod again my tablet as it works ok for now.
Hope the chinese guy is wrong and we are right.

          By the way,
I've found this ipad mini antenna photos from
          www.ifixit.com/Store/Parts/iPad-mini-Wi-Fi-Bluetooth-Antenna/IF122-006-1

I wonder how you'll make it fit and work inside your m6

Yes, this is the antenna I've bought (paid 2€).

Don't worry I'm SURE that the long antenna is the GPS one. I'm an electronic engineer. I know what I'm saying!
As a general rule the lower is the frequency the bigger is the antenna. The lowest frequency in our tablet is the GPS.

Hey I brought an antenna for iPad mini for 1.2 USD at aliexpress.com
now I know it is a year ago that you said you will add it into the tablet.

If you manage to do it. Will you share on how to?

              Regards

for me, a simple hack was more than enough to get correct WiFi and GPS reception.
it s been 12 month that the mod was done, and WiFi is absolutely OK until now.
no need of iPad part inside my pipo tablet, and life is good, as LG says...

my brand new pipo m7 pro suffered, after a few weeks, of random and very annoying disconnections.

I have many connected wifi device at home but the pipo m7p was the only one which was unstable connecting to my router.
Symptom = connections still ok but no response to requests and after a while, disconnection !

                    First thing I've tried : change my router (it was using WPA2 encryption);
I decided to use the wifi function of my ADSL box (freebox HD, I live in France) instead; encryption = WPA (too bad as not wpa2 ability for that shit).

Results : nothing changed, I decided to keep that WLAN config anyway.

                    Next try :
                    alternative ROMS; I opted for Riley's 2.1.1
                    Results : nothing changed.

Then I've tried RR 2.3 then 2.4 but I ended reverting to kernel 2.1.1 associated to ROM 2.4 because this was for me the more stable combination.

                    Results : nothing changed.

Then I tried a couple of automatic reconnections apk : wifi tx power 0.7b, and wifi fixer 1.0.1
                    Results : not better.

I was desperate and a friend suggested to try a hardware fix of the antenna.

I did not find any teardown photos nor videos for this tablet and was not very comfortable to open it, but I did it anyway after I've retrieved a couple of appropriate opening tools (used in the past for replacing an iPod battery) that I think are better than credit cards for that job.

So here is the photo of the opened beast to begin with

ths small black piece on the left is the combo buttons (power and esc) that has fallen down once the back was dismounted.
                    Hello!
Many years have passed and I decided to take out my pipo m7 pro drawer to play a game and it is still a very nice device with excellent screen ...
I happen to have this problem of wifi signal loss and researching realized that in no rom anyone complains about it, so it really should be hardware.
I'm going to give it a stir, I noticed that the images you posted are no longer on the forum, do you still have them? Could you send me? Help me identify the Wifi chip.
I only have this wifi problem to complain about this device and sometimes it closes the app from scratch.
