    Fixing Streaming APPs that crash or wont work S802/805, etc

    OK folks, time to start a new thread about trying to fix or at least figure out why some streaming APPs crash.

    1) Bell TV APP can be fixed by editing build.prop and remove this line:
    hw.nophone=false
    Or comment it out by putting a # in front like this:
    #hw.nophone=false


    Now the biggest issue I think we will find with these APPs is they are calling wake_lock but do not have permission to do so. Until AML fixes the SDK there maybe a way to get them working.

    For instance, I edited the PBS APK and simply added this line to manifest.xml and repacked the APK.
    <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK" />
    That got it working.


    So if anyone wants me to see if I can fix other streaming APP for you, post here.
    I may need you to send me the APK if I cannot get it here in the USA.

    I will update this threads with links to fixed APPs.

    the ones not working in the uk are all on googleplay all free apps they are bbc iplayer /demand 5 and 4od the last 2 play adverts but wont play any proggrames they had worked on every rom update so far but not on 2

      OK the BBC iPlayer APP. Either I am not seeing it as I am in the US or something else. I see a BBC iPlayer APP made by BBC iPlayer. It is only a radio APP not TV.

      I also do not see 4od player in the play store and I also do not see Demand 5.

      I even tried going to google play with my PC and a web browser. Cant find them!

      So you may have to send me the APKs.

          This app is incompatible with all of your devices.

                  I have another go, I don't use the apps but im hear to help if I can I will ree download & try again, I dont no if im doing things right I downloading the app then backing it up

                      I don't no if this is any help bob but hears a titanium backup of the apk https://drive.google.com/folderview?...zQ&usp=sharing

                      I don't no of any other way to get the apk to you as it vanishes when it installs

                      Or theres this if your brave enough its a update.zip of the app..BUT bear in mind i aint got a clue what im doing ha ha,, i made the zip with an app called zipme its a android app ,,i think you can just put it on your sd card & you install it via recovery https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzq...ew?usp=sharing

                      Oh the update zip is for a 3288 device

                        BUT, when I run it and click on a video the APP says "4od is not available in your location".

                        So I took the APK apart anyway and it already has the wake lock command in it.

                        So that rules that out!
                        I can't help any more on that APP since it wont work for me in the USA

                            twrp backups from my vega-h i even rarred them individually just in case, these apps do work on my phones just not on the vega-h after last rom update

                              OK demand 5 should be fixed. APK download in first post.

                              However I cannot test for sure as when I click on a video I get a message that I am not in the UK.
