Versions 2.0.2 and later are based on a newer SDK than the earlier releases. Mixing libraries between them might not be a good idea. Maybe Wasser or another developer could verify this.

    Hi Guys,

I'm using Wasser 1.04, the newer versions are unstable on my X7. I'm happy with 1.04 with one exception: Google Play Music sometimes doesn't work as expected.
I've noticed that there's a patch for Wasser 2.02 (actually it replaces system/lib/libmediaplayerservice.so).

Can I use it on Wasser 1.04? Is it safe to install it (by hand)?

    Thanks,
    pal

I don't have time to write a complete guide but keywords "Terminal Emulator" and "flash_image" will get you far.

Thanks for all the advice on Passthru
I just tried all the players in turn via ES file manager

    The two standard players worked
MX Player PRO failed completely saying the codec is not supported
and KODI gives the broken stream

My problem with direct access via the standard players, is the way they view the files,
just presenting all the files on the disk in a long list, ignoring the folder structures.
All my files are on a 2Tb disk and there are lots of them, so an organised view is essential

At least I can get the passthru now

    Thanks

Try the RockChip Player (i.e. the default video app) with a different HDMI cable, if possible.

I have tried going back to Kodi 14.2 which does not give any passthru

Reinstalled Kodi 15 RC2 and still the regular cut outs in the datastream
    on HDMI bitstream and SPDIF
So I guess I have to manage without Passthru for the time being
    No big deal

Another question: any good miracast app for X7? thanks

Both see the digital stream and pass it thru but my amp, Yamaha A1010,
does not detect a steady digital stream, and drops out of digital mode every few seconds

I have tried Default and HDMI bitstream in the sound settings
    but both behave the same
    Also the spidf setting

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Other than what is listed in Changelog, is there any great differences in version 2.03 from 1.04? I found 1.04 very stable and it played many videos great but I have bad wifi droput and at times no connection. This may be hardware on X7 and not Rom fault at all of course. Now I mainly use box for streaming Video on KODI now so Wifi is needed. Can anyone please share some screenshots?

The VPN PIN requirement is indeed removed in this firmware and I wasn't asked to create a PIN before I can create a VPN connection, but when I tried to connect I've got the message that there is no internet connectivity (network disconnected or something similar) and that I should retry the VPN later. There was in fact no problem with the Internet connectivity.

The VPN managed to connect without a problem, but only after I've created a PIN.
Glad to know the solution.. it's the same problem for me as I posted here last time. So I switched to CE 2.2 0 and there was truly removed the PIN for VPN setting...

I have just upgraded from 0.95 to 2.0.3 and all seems well
    with one exception.
The name of the hard disk is no longer recognised, just showing USB_Disk0 or 1
Making it difficult know which disk I am addressing
