    Progress:

    1. Restoring using Dessa's ROM dump - works fine, U4K restored
    2. Making 1920x1080 desktop on restored U4k - works fine.
    3. Amending Kimdescent ROM to work on U4K - fails - suspect kernel coded for wifi/BT
    4. Amending Kimdescent ROM to have U4K boot.img / bootloader / kernel - fails to boot (bricks!)
    5. Using U4k sys_config on 4.2.2 builds - no effect

So currently I'm 'stuck' on 4.1.1 but at 1080p. THe stick gets ridiculously hot so I can understand why everyone overclocks.

If you want 1080p the method is to extract the stock script.bin from partition a (nannda), convert to .fex, edit and then reconvert and cat back to partition a.

If you're interested and want a shortcut I can upload a 1080 script.bin but on the old 4.1.1 builds this has an antutu of 10,800 which is shocking!!

I'm curious what is good about A31 sticks? Finally getting on with my project seems like cortex 7 performance is about 1.5 slower then A9 on RK3188 ? Even with L2 at 1MB A31 seems quite behind. I understand maybe A7 powerwise should be better A9, but A31 is on 40nm process and seems pretty hot anyway.
Can't wait to get my hands on A80.

What's good? Hm, gpu certainly! I was fed up of those rk chips using old mali400. It sucks in terms of video performance and 3d. So, with this 4.2 update those a31 sticks are the winners hands down provided they are modded with a good cooler/sink. So, I'm quite happy with this measy. Sold my cube2 rk3188 tablet to buy the new onda v975m.

thanks for reply. GPU would make sense, not what I was testing. though youtube playback was better on rockchip ( a31 was stopping all the time) , but probably just youtube app?

My yt runs buttery smooth. Must be an app. On the contrary on my cube2 tablet was a nightmare.
