    10b G3 - 8GB

    My shiny new 10b G3 8GB Arnova tablet arrived in my afternoon mail from Adorama
    Can't say too much yet. Visited the app store and installed '700 Solitaires' free app.
    The touch response is definitely faster and smoother. My wife has snagged it and refuses to quite playing Klondike I. It also came with 'Angry Birds" and a full screen of apps
    Hopefully Linda falls asleep early tonight and I will get my hands on the little devil so's I have some serious computer time on it.
    My Arnova 10 G2 4GB has become the sole possession of my 87 year old mother-in-law for game playing. I am now officially her number 1 son-in-law.

    Anyway I will report more soon. Also answer any questions if I can

      I used to long for an Ipad, but couldn't afford one.

      Now I have an Arnova 10 G2, with Gingercomb V2.0 rom.

      I am so glad I made the right choice.

        Unfortunately no... that download is for the 10G2 and is the October, 10 2011 ROM we all have been using.

        It is not the G3 ICS ROM

        You had me all excited too... Why Maplin is listing that download for the G3 is beyond me

        But it does say THIS after the download link
        "Please note, this update is provided for customers running units purchased prior to Jan 2012."

        G3 was not out prior to Jan 2012

        I would still like a ROM dump! I bet it will run on our 10G2's!!!

            No Cigar Yet

            I can mount the G3 as a mass storage device without any problem in Slackware.
            However the Arnova controls what I am allowed to see on the USB port.
            You must enable USB debugging and then open the USB port from ICS. This effectively limits what you see on the mass storage device (ie the G3). I can copy all the files above / but cannot see the root directory.
            I am sure that is not what you are looking for Bob.
            My time on the G3 is limited MIL (mother-in-law) & wife are now having solitaire competitions on the G2 vs. G3.
            I believe I will need to root the G3 in order to read the rom. Googled rooting ICS a few times but have found nothing substantial yet.

              Yes you need a temp root. Usually z4root works. Then follow this guide

                I don't have a micro SD card for this device yet. The guide says I need it. As soon as I have the opportunity to get one I will proceed. I have lots of the regular ones but none of the itsy bitsy ones.

                    In Arctablet say they have a firmware dump of Arnova 10b G3, does anyone know where it came from or where I can download?

                      Jim from arctablet has the 10b G3 in hand. He is dumping it but he has not published it yet

                      I cant wait till someone dumps this tablet.

                        Sell the 4gb version in currys for 149.99 so thinking of getting it....hows it been you had a longer play with it over the weekend?

                          Since there is no major differences from this G3 to G2, do you think is possible to run it on G2 ?

                          The G3 have more 512MB of RAM. OK, it's important, but I see a lot of devices running ICS with 512MB and it runs just fine.

                            Bob has just rooted the 9g2 ics Rom to the 9g2 so hopefully yes it should be fine

                              Unless like the nextbook they changed the screen hardware! The new nextbooks have the same specs and the old ones. The new ICS ROM flashes on the old nextbooks but the screen does not work as they changed the hardware! So lets hope the hardware is the same like the 9G2.
