Well I tried a few more combinations and still cant get the thing to boot
TBH I'd wouldn't mind just being able to get my device on KK (not bothered with the overclock anymore)
in the meantime Iv'e gone back to Finless 1.8.

If anyone with a Mk908 v5 has managed to get on KK please say how you managed it :P

A lot of people here and me too have this crappy T chips inside.
Thanks to d33's kernels and KitKat you can be much more happy with your device.

I hope you'll find good alternative.
I have my T-based box(not of your model stick, it doesn't matter) runing 1080p cpu1704/gpu798/ddr800 and it plays all kind and sizes of movies great.

How did you get that overclock on your t-box? Which kernel are you using? And is bluetooth working together with wifi? I get terrible wifi speed when bluetooth is enabled.

No it's the same I just have to hope Finless releases a KK rom for the MK908 v5

Your kernel is what selects your device. Try finless a928 rom (it might be the same though) Did you try a 2.07 stock/stock/stock kernel?

My device has micron RAM too. Probably my SoC is a little bit more lucky
But it is kind of strange because my leakage level lines are identical to your ones

Well this is why I pay the extra and order through amazon if they have it. I returned my a928 yesterday and have already received credit. I'm so sick of the T chips.

Could I use finless' 1.8 boot/misc/loader/recovery and system.img and just use your overclock kernal?

No. Those kernels have to be used with a finless kitkat release. Try 2.07 kernel.

Bootloader mode then flash 1600/stock/stock and see if it boots. Always slowly increase your over clock one step at a time, start with GPU then DDR last.

Also note some units dislike DDR over clock altogether and will not boot (my a928 - returned)

You're right. It is known that different "T" chip has different leakage level. But this problem can be caused by crappy RAM chips and weak PS too.

Thanks man, if I manage to get my stick working again that will be the settings I'll use

When you over clock monitor temperature and do an endless CPU stress test followed by a few benchmarks. I recommend antutu and 3dmark as that should test both DDR and GPU. I can't remember what CPU stress test I use but I let it run an hour and watched it close so I could unplug once unstable. I don't think these rk socs have a thermal shut off.
