I wish I could explain this..... But I have used Netflix at least 10 times since I got this box. Perfect for me with NO ISSUES! AND YES... over Wifi!
So there is something going on here and it is not the box!
Sorry to tell you all this but something else is causing your problems. I wish I knew the answer but seriously guys, it works for me! I am not sure what APK's your installing and what else you pile on your device but I have a feeling THIS is the variable.... Remember bandwidth burned by APPs that use notification services, etc, can cause issues....
"Forgive them as they know not what they do"

Could the problem be the lack of proper codecs"
Technical details
Streaming
Initially streaming solely using Microsoft technologies and codecs such as VC-1 for video and WMA for audio, the rapid expansion and diversity of Netflix-capable devices have necessitated encoding into many different formats — including H.264 (AVC), VC-1, H.263 and H.265 (HEVC) for video, and Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, AAC and Ogg Vorbis for audio.[268] According to Netflix, the vast number of codec and & bitrate combinations can mean having to encode the same title 120 different times before it can be delivered to all streaming platforms.[269]
Netflix uses adaptive bitrate streaming technology to adjust the video and audio quality to match a customer’s broadband connection speed and realtime network conditions. Netflix recommend a 1.5Mbit/s download speed as a minimum, 3Mbit/s for DVD quality, 5Mbit/s for HD, 7Mbit/s for Super HD and 12Mbit/s for 3D streaming.[270] Not all devices or titles support the highest quality streams. Netflix’s announced support for 4K streaming will use the H.265 codec and require a 15Mbit/s connection.[271]
Netflix provides users the ability to choose their download rates / quality of video on their site (https://account.netflix.com/VideoQuality).
Netflix API
On October 1, 2008, Netflix launched an application programming interface (API).[272] The Netflix API[273] allows access to data for all Netflix titles as well as access on a user's behalf to manage his or her movie queue. The API is free and allows commercial use.[274] The Developer Network includes a forum for asking and answering questions.[275]
A variety of services has been created around or has integrated the API. Examples include Rotten Tomatoes and The New York Times, which allow users to click to add titles to their Netflix queue or begin watching on Watch Instantly from their pages,[275] and Jinni, which enables one to search within Watch Instantly and imports some user information such as reviews.[276]
Additionally, the API has allowed many developers to release Netflix applications for mobile devices. For example, on November 16, 2009, Netflix released an official Nokia app that allows some trailer streaming,[277] and on August 26, 2010, Netflix released an official iPhone app.[144] However, in June 2012, Netflix announced that it would be cutting back the availability of its public API.[278][why?]
Hulu Movie format
Movies are encoded in MPEG-4 video and Dolby Digital Plus audio.[6] Vudu offers movies in three formats: instant standard-definition, instant high-definition, and HDX. Standard-definition movies are up-scaled to higher 1080i/p resolution and high-definition movies can be output at 1080p24.[5] The box is capable of outputting movies in 1080p/24, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i video resolutions. Audio is sourced in Dolby Digital Plus and output in Dolby Digital 5.1, with the option of stereo output.[7] Audio is limited to stereo playback on HTPC/PC/Mac platforms. Users are able to adjust video to display in stretched, boxed, or zoomed format as well as adjusting overscan settings depending on their television format.MK818B, T428, ATV 1220, CS918S, TV01, S89H, R89, ADT-1, MK808B Plus, MINIX X8-H Plus, Tronsmart Orion R68

I just conducted some tests with a variety of devices to see how Netflix bandwidth varies by device. I'm on Comcast, which is now part of Open Connect and gets preferred bandwidth. I tested using the Netflix Example Short 23.976, which has an overlay to tell you the resolution and bandwidth you're getting from Netflix.
Amazon Fire TV: Quickly ramped up to 1920x1080 at 5800 kbps.
Google Chromecast: Went up to 1920x1080 at 5800 kbps.
Acer 720 Chromebook: Went up to 720x480 at 1700 kbps.
Panasonic DMP-MST60: Went up to 1920x1080 at 5800 kbps. The ramp up was slower, but it's farther from the router, too.
Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ (running CM 11): Only went to 720x480 at 1700 kbps.
Apple iPad 3: Went up to 4300 kbps at 1280x720.
Tronsmart Vega S89: Strangely, the overlay that appears on other devices did not appear. I did not know what bandwidth or resolution it got. If I had to guess, it's 720x480 at 1700 kbps, like the Nook tablet and Chromebook. It looks fine and is smooth, but doesn't appear to be HD.
I have a couple more devices I can test, but that's a good roundup.

All these test was using an Ethernet connection and screen set to 1080p 60hz. I even tried with wifi and different screen settings, always the same result. So, why is it just my Vega S89-H that has problems with Netflix?
