    Hi Bob,

I am currently trying to re-create the problem to confirm exactly what the issue is. I think Doc is right that it is related to charging and the USB cable plugged in. So far I tried the shutdown while charging and was not able to re-create the issue. I am going to do some more testing.

If I can re-create the problem I will document the exact scenario, then I will flash with the original ROM and see if it is an issue with that ROM as well.

    Cheers, TooSlow

I only experienced it after flashing the 1.5a ROM, but can't swear it was the cause. I'll continue testing and post back whether it appears again or not.

One thing I do recall is that during the time when the screen would not unblank and the power button did not appear to be having any effect, the tablet would not reboot following the ROM flashing. (I hope this is relevant and not just muddying the water further.)

For the record, I did clear the IDB before each flash. (Maybe that didn't take 100%.)

Another thing I noticed is that my loader appeared to be newer than the ones listed. (Sorry, I can't recall the version.) I'd be happy to try to get a copy if that would help... and I can figure out how to. (I'll do a quick search.)

I ran across another forum which mentioned (what appears to be) this issue on the Nextbook 8P. They refer to it as the "sleep of death." (link)

My battery was nearly empty, so I just finished recharging (red LED turned orange) and before un-sleeping (which worked while it was charging) I unplugged power after which it would not un-sleep. I'll leave it a while and try again later.

Had the idea of trying with USB also. USB alone, it wouldn't un-sleep. But then plugging in charger brought it back to life (full boot).

Another post (link) points to the sensors.rk29board.so file in /system/lib/hw. I haven't yet tried to compare the current one to the one from the stock image, but it's a promising lead.

          Good find Doc!

I tried pretty much everything I could think of at the time and could not re-create the problem. I even flashed the original ROM, ran tests, then re-flashed the 1.5a ROM. I still had no luck at re-creating the problem.

However I did not try exactly what was described in the link you included. I will give it a go in a day or two, work is backing up ...

          Cheers TooSlow

New to the forum... First of all, after months of looking for a root for the Prem9, I am stoked to have stumbled on to this.. However, I am having troubles downloading the file.. Everytime I download it and try to run it with winrar it errors out.. I looked and the file size is 90.1mb, so apparently I'm not getting the whole file. Any ideas?

              Hey Cgjudson,

The file I downloaded is "nextbook_9p_finless_v15a.zip". Its just a regular zip file, I put it on my Windows desktop and followed read the readme.txt from the zip file. It worked very well.

              Cheers, TooSlow

o/ freaktab.I own a Digma IDX9, which appears to be a clone of Nextbook Premium 9 designed for CIS countries. Camera and port layout differ a bit, but hardware looks almost indentical. Do I have any hope not bricking it with this image? Here's my dmesg output, just in case: http://pastebin.com/1Bh5BD7T.

                      Camera glitch?

Flashed 1.5a and noticed for some reason after taking a photo the camera doesnt come back but rather goes to a black screen. Any ideas as to why and/or is there another compatible camera app from another rom with a few more bells and whistles?

I can flash this on my Arnova 10G2 and it boots so I know it is not a BRICK ROM, but that is about as far as I can go. Realize I do not have this tablet to do full testing on! But I am also very competent in RK29 ROMS

I am also supplying the STOCK ROM kit for download so you can go back if needed.

Now I don't want to retype up ALL that my 1.5 ROM is about. So please before going farther read my Nextbook 7P ROM thread here to understand what it is about:

                        http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...OM-Version-1-5

ALSO ALWAYS read the README that is in my ROM kit! Speaking of that, I could use some help updating the flash proceedure in the README if it is different than the nextbook 7P. So please help other users by helping me get the README instructions correct!

OK with that said you ready for a ROM that "should" blow your pants off?
                        - EXT4 file system tuned to NAND memory
                        - Full root with write access to /system
                        - SU and SuperUser installed
                        - ADB debug enabled and full ADB enabled
                        - WIFI that allows connection to adhoc networks (thethering)
                        - Total DEBLOAT of the ROM! This tunes the file system straight up! Then use Petrus APP Injector to put back what you want! WARNING... you should put back the stock browser and Gallery3d at a minimum.
                        - 1 GIG of user APP space now vs the 512MB you had before. If you guys want even more, say so. I can go much higher!
                        - Full Google Play and Google APPs with full SYNC support! e.g. Sync for Mail, calendar, and Contacts! You must use APP Injector to install Gplay and those other apps like Gmail, calendar, etc. Again READ THE README!

Here is the Stock ROM Flash Kit:

                        ROM ->Nextbook 9P Stock ROM (143 megs)

Here is my Finless V1.5 ROM for you to enjoy:

ROM ->Nextbook 9P full root and debloat - Finless Version 1.5 ROM (185 megs)

Let me know how it goes please.
                        Bob

I rooted my tablet with your custom rom, works but have one problem, when i try to watch videos on youtube with any browser at all it closes with an error message

I just bought a Nextbook Premium 9 and it came with Android 4.0. Will 1.5a work? Not sure it is the same OS this was written for. Any help, Steve

I just picked mine up yesterday, ran the flash and everything, the first boot went fine, then it went to boot into the android OS and it hasnt done anything but sit on the loading screen for twenty minutes with the little eyes flashing, also the app injector program.zip won't open in winrar, keeps saying it's corrupt. Any help?

Mine came with 4.0, tried flashing directly to the 1.5a, gave me all kinds of hell. flashed it to the stock rom provided here, stock isnt 4.0, so i retried the 1.5a again, no problems so far, boots fine and everything!!!
