Arnova Child Pad Finless ROM???

Been waiting for this thanks! I'll test it as soon as i get home, does the zip file have instructions on installation? Also how does this differ from the update Archos posted on their site? Is it simply the same ROM with play and root enabled? Does this rom also allow for Netflix and the other blocked apps to work?

It is built from the Arnova ROM posted on thier website
It is rooted and Google Play is installed.

If you search netflix here on this forum, you will see it is a MISS of working almost all the time. Not just Arnova but polaroid, nextbook, etc. It seems they have a crappy APP that will not run well on tablets.

I have YET to find someone that was happy with netflix on any 1ghz processor tablet.

i have tried netflix and havent gotten it to work, the app loads and thumbnails take awhile, i can scroll through the titles but cannot click on anything. It makes a sound like it clicked but nothing happens. Sucks wish it would work, oh well thats why i got a 32gb microsd card for it.

Right, i'm in the same boat. Would love netflix to work. I'm majorly just wanting root so that i can block the adds. I don't think my 3 year old needs to be playing games and seeing ads for dating sights. I've got my 16gig sd card ready to load up with movies.

Any idea how to change the default path for the "movies" folder/app. I want it to point to the sdcard or a folder on it. Load that bad boy up with reading rainbows and pixar flicks.

Please follow this guide to get your drivers installed.

Follow the posts earlier, to get you tablet into recovery mode. Once in recovery mode Skip part 1 and 2 and go straight to part 3 of the guide

Arnova says they will be releasing many versions of the childpad. This ROM is based on the ONLY ROM available from arnova which is for the Alvin Resistive version:

If you have some other model then that is a problem. Maybe you have capacitive? Arnova has no available ROM for any other version other than that. Try flashing back to the stock ROM from thier web site.

I am afraid the stock ROM will not work for you! The stock ROM is a resisitive.
Model is:
AN7DG3ST-CP

Arnova does not have a stock ROM for the capacitive at this time

Maybe soon they will. You can try to ask them for a release of it. Or we need a stock ROM dump from the capacitive version.

It may also be possible that the non-childpad 7dG3 ROM will work for you. There is a ROM dump out there but it appears the site that has it is hording it

Yes it is done, i did put the wrong rom , that for the Resistive.
my Pad is 2 day´s old.
Is there no chance to make them work, as only wait for Arnova relase a rom?

What you need is somebody with the same. Tablet as you to do a rom dump so. That a rom can be made for you.

So.we need somebody to come forward
