Arnova Child Pad Finless ROM???

Has anyone been able to get Netflix working on this Childpad yet? I have tried EVERYTHING and can not get it working. I installed Bob's Rom but have the same problem as the stock ROM. My daughter would love to have this working..

This is a problem across all sorts of tablets. Contact netflix and put pressure on the company or people will never see it fixed

I went down that road as well, with Netflix & Arnova. I have been unsuccessful thus far..

Change partition size

There is not a way without reflashing. To increase space you have to edit the parameter file in the ROM. Kasty's ROM is not like mine in it's parts. So you can't edit his parameter file without a lot of work taking the update.img apart. Even if his ROM were in parts, to change the parameter file setting still requires a full reflash as basically you are repartitioning memory (like a hard disk).

wow that is such a crappy device u cannot even zoom in or out....

thanks a lot for this rom i am flashing it right now took me only 2 minutes following your easy instructions!

here my even easier instructions for anyone still undecided maybe:

1. hold a needle or somethn into reset, connect device to pc.
2. install drivers from the zip file
3. run that .exe included , click eraseIDB, check Loader box , and hit RUN.

done


EDIT: its not working tho it keeps saying "failed to calibrate" after hitting the 5 points (which works just fine), i bought the device today in spain.

EDIT2: IT WORKS!! maybe i removed usb cable too soon, i just repeated the steps and now its working just fine will give a more detailed report soon

so much better than the stockrom ;o) google play works PERFECT i was able to download my favorite apps just fine ! i did have to clean caches and fix sync tho to remove the error warnings but it all worked anyways. now this device suddenly is much much better and not so crappy anymore as it was on the stock android 4.

i only bought this cos they didnt have any other 7" tablets there. lol. i hope i can paint the white/blue things BLACK somehow

it feels nice in the hands but the crappy touchscreen still makes some problems in browsing the web for example, also sometimes in settings or whereever else, when i scroll down, it will just click somewhere ? is this possible to fix somehow ? its much better now tho with this new rom.

edit5: with adaway it says not enough space when trying to write hosts file, tho i only installed only like 20 mb of apps. lucky patcher says it cannot patch titanium cos it doesnt have SU even tho it does have SU and also shows in log.


final edit : all was fine until the tab just rebooted and it was hanging at the calibration screen, i could hit the points to calibrate just fine but it would always say calibration failed *lol* but turning it off by holding power fixed this problem

just downloaded angry birds from google play and it runs perfect i wonder if black ops zombies will run? might update later

it doesnt eat mem or battery thats good too

I got my son the Childpad when it first came out and after setting up my Arnova account and discovering what the apslib market was like I was PRAYING someone would at least root the thing so I could get Google Play on it. After looking around a little shortly after getting it I saw that no one had so I figured I'd check again later. Well, now months later I find this forum and your ROM Finless! I just got it flashed and all I can say is A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!!!! I know you can't to anything about the imprecision of the resistive screen but just having this thing like a stock Vanilla Android device is WORLDS better than it was before! Thank you so much for putting this together!

a mayor problem is you cannot install adblock cos not enuff memory

As far as I know this is the only ROM for this device and unless I'm wrong, there hasn't been an update for it, but I really wouldn't let that stop you from flashing it. I've been running it this whole time and it works perfectly.

There is more then one Rom out.

We got Finless Rom and NeoCM9 and NeoCM10.
So you can try what you want.

Childpad ICS or JB

I would say to you take the NEOCM10.
Because i use it on my Childpad.
You only must know is it Capacitive or Resitiv.

Kernel

You only must Download the Main CM10 Rom, and the Kernel Image for Childpad Resitive.
In the Flashing Tool change the Kernel to your Kernel.

I'm not at a place where I can do this now but I will definitely give it a shot when I get home next week. Is it as stable as the the finless ROM?
