This is the tablet I use to read books and listen to music only:

Recently, it became stuck on boot-loop after I tried to root. Alcatel Mobile Upgrade tool didnt fix it. I found this firmware which I flashed with Flashtools v5.1640 and it's now working again (rooted with KingRoot):

However, with all the google apps and vodafone apps in it, it quickly becomes very slow after updates and with no space left.

I would like to ask if it's possible to cook the rom to a bare bones version like I've read in this thread for other MTK devices.

Well, I managed to root it with Kingroot, then replaced with Super-sume, and I have found a recovery too on a Russian forum...I don't know if I am allowed to post the links...

I hope this thread isn't too old, but I have two identical RCA Voyager rct6773w22B tablets that have the MT8127 chips that are bricked, and I have been trying to find a rom that will work with them when I flash them using SPFlash tool. They have 8gb of NAND and 1024x600 screen resolution. I saw that someone had already posted on a similar RCA with the same model number (for the most part minus the "b" at the end), but the link to the rom is dead.

When I run lsusb in the terminal with either one connected to my Ubuntu system, it shows to be an MT6227 instead. I can't find the rom anywhere, and have tried flashing the roms from

and they didn't work. The last time I saw the firmware version I saw it had version 10, but I cant find the rom for that.

Chip: MT8127 printed on chip (lsusb shows it to be MT6227)

Resolution: 1024x600
