My question is completely related to the QS3.1. I was on the QS v2 before and I was using the YoutubeHD (because the standard Youtube does not play HD in the JB ROM). I was unable to play the live streaming in SD even (it was very low quality). I am just trying to find out if it is solved in this ROM.

    Thanks,
    Vab
The issue ( if there is one ) is in the app... not the ROM... hence your post/question is off topic. You even indicate it yourself when you stated it wouldn't work properly in a JellyBean ROM... that is because it is an app issue .... no a ROM issue.

Advising someone they are posting inappropriately by asking an off topic question is far from rude... or at least, no more rude that the off topic question itself being asked in the inappropriate place.

      Ok....
Meanwhile, fearing damage the screen, I installed the kernel with the lowest values (cpu 1608 gpu 600 ddr 600), but the situation has not changed.

I only have one HDMI cable, which is actually the same with which today QSv2 worked great.

I can not send a video because the flickering is random and very fast: lasts fractions of a second.
Unfortunately, it is also continuous ...
When the screen not flashing visibly, I see flashes of numerous thin horizontal white lines running through the screen ... This happens with ES File Explorer open...
On the Home, blinking is most visible and important ... always very fast.

My experience leads me to believe it could be due to an exasperated GPU or CPU overclock ...
I do not know what to do! Maybe a fresh install?

      PS
However, I tried to take some screenshots, but in the directory /Pictures/Screenshots, there is no file !!! How come?

Guys I do not know if this is an issue with the Rom or XBMCZ but when I have an OSD keyboard i cannot navigate with the remote control over the letters. I had this problem with v3.1, v3 latest XBMCZ and the previous one. When I was in v2 and was running BXMC i didn't have this issues. Anyone else has the same problem?

          init.d issues

          Hi,

I've been using the Quickshot ROMs since version 2 and have been very happy except for a couple of issues:

          1. XBMC supplied seems to have artifacting every few second when playing a 1080p HD movie, not too concerned with this yet as I hope there will be a new version released soon.
          2. The init.d scripts just don't seem to work, I've modified 97nfs in /system/etc/init.d and made it executable (chmod +x 97nfs), however, it just will not run, yet if I copy the contents of this script into the SUdaemon script it runs fine! Anyone else had this issue or is it just me?
          3. A third issue I just remembered- Android is still not respecting the sound settings- it appears now that the output device appears to be remember now but the sound input is still setting to the air mouse- is this expected?

          Thanks.

              hi!
the YouTube app we included on Qs 3.1 is the official one, i mean the one you can install from Playstore.
For those people having issues xbmc, please try mizuu app or Archos media player. And please wait for xbmc being stable it's being terrible for now. We include xbmc just because people asks for it, but we think latest versions are not so good (there are too much people complaining about it). We hope xbmc will stabilize and Flumpster do its magic so finally we can have a working xbmc version.

                Some Feedback!

Very nice work guys!! - great and fast rom here.

Passthrough is working with HDMI! - MxPlayer and XBMC tested, version that you supply with rom.
                - thats great!

Netflix is kind a bad ? Have some "slow" frames then picture moves around, pretty much had this in all kitkat roms so far, Qs3 and Micrale tested and the same problem.
Problem is bigger with 1080p60, a little better with 1080p50.

Kernel used: 1608/600h/720 any other i should try to get a more liquid playback ?

                - and again thanks for your work for us!

                  HDMI 1s black screen issue

Sorry guys, i have to ask you this:
why there is this 1s black screen bug?

I think it's related with kitkat, because both your rom and wasser's have this issue. I tried 3 HDMI cables, with different 1s black screen intervals. These cables were all HDMI 1.3

Why such behaviour? And why the same cable worked well for years with JellyBean?
Do you suggest me to buy a newer HDMI cable or wait for the fix?

                  Thanks

For avoid any doubt, I perform a new installation (method with the PC, as instructed).

Apart 3 errors/warnings at the start of ROM on the lack of externalSD and failure to mount, the procedure is complete and the ROM has been regularly started as the first time I installed QSv3.1.

I have not done any tuning/setup. Unfortunately the flickering is fast, casual and frequent, is repeated on the home and in the apps.

Minix, HDMI cable and TV, is the same as that working perfectly with the QSv2 yesterday. The TV has 3 HDMI connections: I tried them all, the result is the same: flash in rapid succession.

The TV, a Plasma 50 'Panasonic has not adjustments on the video relative to the frequency that is automatically detected (1080/60).

On Minix, apart the scaling screen, I can not find settings editable.

What do you say ... before come back the QSv2 you advise me to install before the QSv3.0 and then I upgrade to 3.1??

                    Other Tips?

I would suggest you to come back to JellyBean (v2) or buy a new cable. I have done the PC installation method correctly and nothing has changed

sorry but something is not clear for me, did you flash v3 or v3.1?
on v3.1 we made adjustments to hdmi and on some screens still has the 1s behavior.

Like Daemonium said the app installed by default with the rom is the official one, why we dont installed the HD modded/hacked version? Because in qs2 we had tones of complains about how install the official market app. But official youtube app(like most of the apps included in the rom) can be easy uninstalled from settings/app and then you can install or test what is the best youtube version for you.
I love Tubemate app and I installed it in my device to surf in youtube and save some videos to my local storage

Thanks We didn't test hdmi passthrough (we don't have the right setup to do that) so thanks for report it works.
Sadly xbmc is sometimes a pain in the ass, and yes, I am experiencing same problems with spdif pasthrough, we tested all xbmc versions we find, and this one included was the more stable and the one that better works with the rom, but is not perfect, we need to wait like with frodo versions to find the one who works great. JB with beyond xbmc worked great, but beyond was based in 12.4, gotham is in 13.1 yet and a lot of bugs are resolved everyday. There are tons of developers working on it. And we hope Fumpster can do the magic and launch a great xbmc.

Sorry a lot, but we tried a lot of solutions to fix this issue, Daemonium had the same issue (he minimized it changing the hdmi cable), we tried to touch some parameters on kernel and we got in Daemonium X7 the issue solved, but we cant reproduce this issue in our devices and TV, in qs2 we take like base a minix rom, and used a minix kernel patched, now we compiled the sdk and our own kernels, we are working on it, but is very difficult solve a problem that I cant reproduce

try to use in your init.d script like superuser (su)
                            Code:

I only can tell you that Daemonium tried 4 cables and one of them did the trick and the problem was minimized, that and the kernel adjust we made solved his problem. And yes same cables that didnt work well in kitkat was working great at JB, but we don't know what parameters was used by minix in his jb kernels.

Apart 3 errors/warnings at the start of ROM on the lack of externalSD and failure to mount, the procedure is complete and the ROM has been regularly started as the first time I installed QSv3.

                            Other Tips?
For now not, Install qs3 and after upgrade will not resolve your problem sorry a lot, and be sure that we are working to solve it, but at today we are out of ideas

Because the defect is unbearable, if there is not solution in a short time, I are forced to return to QSv2. I'm very sorry because the ROM is really fast ...
Although my case is uncommon, it would correct report the problem between warnings. Those who prefer the utility of the Minix to the test, may delay the upgrade ...
