I did some tests as below.

1. Update from v3 to v3.1 by quickshot-update.zip
X7 connect to AVReceiver via an optical cable.
Sound manager -> SDIF Passthrough
XBMC -> Enable passthrough

No sound while playing a MKV DTS file.

2. Fresh flash QS v3.1
I got the same result as case 1.

I Minix Neo X7, I made a perfect standard installation (from PC), as instructed and video.

I confirm that expensive DAC hiFace compatible with QSv2, which asked compatibility with v3.1
v3.1 is recognized by first and last name I have not tried the audio, but this is already a good start.

Unfortunately, the video - to be more precise visualization of the Home (not a movie) - is plagued by continuous and annoying flickering. I will be more precise and drastic: the ROM is unusable

I adjusted the screen scaling, I tried to use an HDMI mode lower (1920x1080-50). I have not installed any kernel. Using kernel already present in ROM. (Exactly, what is the kernel that v3 uses by default?)

Maybe the ROM has a default overclocked kernel?

How do I fix this?

Try to play the file with mxplayer and tell me how it goes.
to enable passthrough in xbmc you need to enter in xbmc settings /audio select expert options and enable passthrougt. I am runing the same setup in a sony reciever and spdif passthrought works like a cham in dolby and dts (dts hd is not supported)

Default kernel is cpu1600 ddr720 gpu600h. DDR is overclocked by default, but I think that is not the problem.
Can you try other hdmi cable?
can you save a video of flickering and sent me a link in pm?

Can anybody confirm if the live streaming in the Youtube works with high definition?
And yes, is the Youtube from play store capable of playing 1080p or we have to use the YoutubeHD apk?

This is the Quickshot v3.1 thread... not a general thread to ask questions about Youtube or other apps. The included Youtube app does play the HD vid's listed in it... not certain if it does any live ones but as mentioned, this isn't the place for that type of question.

He is referencing about a minix mini version that I sent him in pm to be tested, with a different kernel, so please don't try this rom in the mini, we will publish the mini version soon

It's fast

Installed 3.1, and I can tell you, it's fast. Works like a charm. The only issue I encountered was the ethernet speed. 10m/bit down while I have 60m/bit on my pc.

My question is completely related to the QS3.1. I was on the QS v2 before and I was using the YoutubeHD (because the standard Youtube does not play HD in the JB ROM). I was unable to play the live streaming in SD even (it was very low quality). I am just trying to find out if it is solved in this ROM.

Default youtube included in this kitkat fw works well with HD and SD content...

Congrats for the work... Passthrough works fine in XBMC, but crashes a bit changing to AC3 to DTS in a film... Also sometimes start buffering and the film stops for a while.

MXPlayer works fine, DTS passthrough and changing audio without problems...
