Good news: I was able to restore the complete stock image, imgRePackerRK.exe v1.04 has a bug that prevented the extraction of system.img (it was always 0 bytes) however the linux version worked.

    Here the stock image: https://mega.co.nz/#!iV0hgS4b!ELMBLE...HN2YwW3nnRMxjU

Now I have another problem, I wanted to use OpenVPN and this requires the tun.ko kernel module. Using the tun.ko installer app downloads a valid kernel module and even insmod works, however as soon as the openvpn app wants to create a new tun device the whole device crashes and reboots

I also tried to downloading another tun.ko file from the droidvpn tun.ko repository by using the original Build and Device identifier: http://tun.droidvpn.com/check.php?m=...device=rk30sdk this gives a different link than http://tun.droidvpn.com/check.php?m=...0615.135019+te however the files are binary equal.

So now I need the kernel source for this damn R-BOX kernel! How can I get it? Any ideas?
Thanks man for your info and image! it saved my R-box it had the same problem and could not boot after trying so many roms. This one worked! however i see that Netflix does not play the movies.. the circle keeps rotating.. any ideas?

Could you guys with MT5931 wifi post dmesg and GPIO dump in the kernel thread.
I would like to make a kernel for RK3066 MT5931 wifi.
        I'm already testing MT5931 for RK3188 devices.

Is there a custom rom designed for this version of the Mk808b?, I am currently using the stock rom.

You have the MTK wireless chipset; try the RK3066 4.4.2 Kit Kat ROM made for it

            ...good luck.

I still want to find out if is there any custom ROM working on this model, but for now I'm just relieved to have the device working again!
hi, I have same situation as you (black screen). Can you please share that stock firmware?
Btw. Did you erase nand before experience black screen?

                  Hi

I got this same MK808B from **** in July. It had 4.1 and from the seller I got a 4.2 image from this link they provided:
                  百度网盘为您提供文件的网络备份、同步和分享服务。空间大、速度快、安全稳固,支持教育网加速,支持手机端。注册使用百度网盘即可享受免费存储空间

I used RKBatchTool v1.5 to flash it but when it was about to finish I got this Download Firmware Fail message and then he thing didn't seem to work, I connected it and the blue light was on but the TV didn't receive a signal.
After a few failed tries with different ROMs I used RKBatchTool with the one here:
                  http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...lly-Working%29
It was successfuk but still no image.

How do I flash the stock ROM here? I tried with RKBatchTool but I think I have to use the tool in the zip file. What is the difference between using batchtool and rom_flash_tool? I would appreciate clear instructions and help...

                  Thanks

                  JC

Thanks CORECHIP, your img saved my MK!
Thanks PPHINC for directing me here and give me the tips I needed!

I tried the 4.4.2 version in the thread in the quote, it installed 'successfully' but when connected to the TV there is no image. Can anybody suggest an improvement for the stock ROM?

The wifi is strong after fixing the wifi cable but it is till slow most of the time!

                    Cheers

                    JC

Anyone know what ROM works with touch screen monitors? I could not make the model MK808B work with a Dell touch screen monitor.

                          wifi too slow

                          Hi

My wifi speed was very bad and disconnected constantly when I first got it. I read somewhere about ground shorting with.antrnna (on mk808 model with 2 antennas) so I removed the soldering from what I believe is ground. This improved signal, at least I think so, but thr speed is too slow and even more when the device is on for a.long time, I guess heating affects it.too.

any ideas how to improve speed? Signal is.ok. Maybe I shouldn't have applied that fix for MK808 with 2 antennas?

                          Thanks
