I can't remember if it's volume up or volume down (check the OP of this thread or the readme.txt file with the firmware), but if you press reset, then hold the up (or down) volume button AND press power, the unit should boot into recovery. Wipe cache, wipe dalvik, and try to reboot. If it boots, great, if not, you'll have to reset, return to recovery and restore a Nandroid.

Does everything work right when you use a usb mouse? Have you tried?

You might need the mouse to go into settings and run the touch screen calibration program on the original firmware. I think there's a link to it on some of the above posts.

Others have successfully gotten touch back doing multiple flashes of Bob's ROM. I have no idea what that did, but someone reported that a while back.
Thanks for the advice ! Never thought of using a mouse - will try that this evening, im sure ive DL the Firmware from the arnova website (Bob includes the link in the readme - is that the same?) anyone point me to a thread wich tells how to flash firmware to original Arnova?

appreciate your help - really thought i was out of options !

NEW- Arnova 10G2 "GingerComb" 2.2 Pro ROM - FINAL

Those sound like pretty good specs...never heard of that brand.

Our DEV's are mostly experienced with Rockchip CPU's...but have branched out as of late. I'm not sure if we can tackle it yet.

When it arrives, find a stock firmware either from the manufacturer or provide a ROM dump and maybe one of the DEV's can do a custom ROM.

Finless is the Chief...he can send it to a specialist.

Trying to install Ubuntu on Android

                  Bob,

I am trying to run through this tutorial video and install Ubuntu 12.04 over this android version, but I get this message as I am going through it maybe you can patch the kernel to work with it?

This is the message I get in terminal when I run the Complete Linux Installer program to Start Linux:

                  Checking loop device... FOUND

mount: mounting /dev/block/loop255 on /data/local/mnt failed: No such device
Error: Unable to mount the loop device!

You will know which three programs to use by looking at this video tutorial and maybe you can duplicate the error that I am getting with your kernel version which is your latest one.

All the required files are enclosed in a link under the youtube video.

                  Kernel 2.6.32.27

Finless Freaktab V2.2 Pro - Final on Arnova 10 G2

If you can get this kernel patched and working with this ubuntu installer that would be sweet!

                  Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Trying to install Ubuntu on Android

                    Bob,

Is this something that may be easily fixable with Gingercomb?

Is there like a few settings that we can adjust in the file system with terminal?

Or would it be a kernel issue with getting this patched to work.

Hi, I haven't tried it yet, but I'd really like to see ubuntu run on my arnova too
I just looked in /dev/block on my 10G2 running the 2.2Pro too, ant there seems to be only loop0 ... to loop7. So if you can edit the ubuntu installer script, try to replace loop255 with loop7.

Or maybe you can try in a terminal, on the 10G2 :
                      su
                      cd /dev/block
                      ln -s loop7 loop255

If the ln command is not found, try instead :
                      busybox ln -s loop7 loop255

                      then :
                      ls

and see if there is loop255 in the entries listed

If that's ok, try the installer again.
