Thanks Bob. I received the box today and flashed this rom right away.. Working great . I had a request for the next rom .. Can you please add xbox 360 controller support? or direct me to a tutorial where it shows how to add the controller support. All the xbox 360 controller tutorial I used has failed.

Reading through the other thread, we are really lucky to have this rom Bob, much appreciated for your work. I have the M8 coming (as a hold me over until my X8-H arrives, then the M8 becomes the bedroom box) and if it were not for this rom it would have been an instant return. Luckily it fixes paid playstore apps...as I do have paid apps that I install.

Again, thanks for the dedication....not to the company per se but to your followers

Bob, I'm experiencing an issue with this recent update (Finless 1.6 ROM). I've lost the video in the XBMC app. Everything works as usual, however, the audio is the only thing streaming--no video. I've reinstalled the app a couple of times being meticulous to follow protocol. Has anyone else experienced this issue or could there be some other reason for this malfunction? Other than this issue, however, overall I get a sense of better stability and speed with this ROM update as is evidenced by an Antutu comparision from the previous 1.5 ROM. Please keep me informed as to what the community may suggest as well as your advices. Sincerely, skb.

Same issue for me..
Use the oman XBMC build, or with the latest XBMC go into the Video settings/Advanced/Accelaration and
only enable libstagefright.

Video quality doesnt seem that great doing this though. Im getting stuttering :-(

Agreed! We had problems with the M8 (Square), from day one; it would have been given an ignominious burial if it had not been for Finless. Does not change the fact that this box is a mess from the beginning and should never have seen the light of day. Physical design appears to be accomplished by 8th grade students, certainly not professional engineers. Finless breathed life into it, Oman gave it a kick in the pants, I suspect many problems we have are Kernel issues which will take time. At least my family can watch movies in 1080p without stutter or spooling. As I said in an earlier post, even Fox News although not quiet SD, ( a fact we have to live with), is acceptable and has no stuttering issues. One would think that technology, which is admittedly 10 years old (!) would have matured at a faster rate. We are still playing with immature hardware not ready for prime time. Hopefully China, Japan, U.S. (?) manufacturers will learn from people like Finless and get their act together if they want to sell these boxes like the proverbial toaster.

What XBMC version do we use with this? Installed Gotham 13.1 but can't see anything. Just wondering what' I'm doing wrong.

Installed Oman XBMC Build on my recently updated Finless 1.6 ROM and am happy to report all XBMC functionality has been restored. skb

I've installed it and the box is much better now. :-)
Works nice with Omans XBMC

Minor point for anyone trying this;
When I first ran up Play Store it refused to connect - just hit spinning wheel.
I discovered this was due to me not setting the Time Zone correctly.
Once set it worked fine

..just in case anyone else has the same issue...
