I don't see anything yellow... Therefor the flashing tool does not recognize the N101.

    Anyone?

Sounds like your supplier changed the build.prop like TomT's did a couple of posts up to allow for more apps to work with the tab.

    You can change it back.

have u tried unchecking usb debug modus before starting flash tool? then u should see usb mass storage displaying in flash tool so you can switch to flash mode and install rk30 drivers..

may be i didn't understand your problem..

You do NOT need to run super one click to root the tablet first! This is a ROM flash and is already rooted.

But I see you figured it out.

Congrats for all the hard work and effort Finless, please keep it up !!

Seeing that you have tested so many different tablets, would you consider the N101 to be one of the "Best" chinese out there for now at least? Of course with your ROM and not the official software...

Yep, pc refuses to see the tab for some reason.

I don't have Bob's insight but I've owned 3 china tabs and been messing with them for over a year. I can say for certain this is "one" of the best china tabs on the market.

To go even further i would say, this may be the best tab for the money (mine was around $230 shipped super fast). Of course that will change in a few months.

Also, within only a couple weeks of release we have great people like Finless within a growing community supporting each other.

I have only had 2 China Tabs but I have owned an iPad one and now a "new iPad" since pre-order and I have to say, this tablet is VERY good and fast for the ~225 I paid for it. With Bob's firmware, when you compare this 101 to a 1K dollar iPad, it sure seems like the iPad is over priced.

PLEASE NOTE. I am calling this BETA 1. Since my touch screen is out I cannot test everything using a mouse! So you guys will be helping me test.

                        Features in 1.4 ROM:

                        1) This has my ClockWork recovery Mod installed. If you do not want to use it DONT.
On first boot just select reboot now and be done with it!
It will not get in your way again if you do not want it!
Included is Petrus reboot tool which allows you to reboot into recovery from the OS.
If you want to know more about that, read this post:

Other APPs like Titanium will also reboot into recovery so if you dont want the reboot APP, you can remove it.

                        2) I have adjusted the parameter file and removed wasted space! More NAND is available now.

                        3) I have adjusted the user APP space from 1GB to 2GB space.

                        4) Since /system is now RW, I have increased it's free space to allow rooted and system apps.

                        5) Installed the latest working SU and SuperUser.apk

                        6) Updated busybox to 1.19.x (1.20.x has bugs in my opinion)

                        7) Debloated the ROM of the junk APPs. I also removed the Chinese and Japanese keyboards.
However in the ROM kit is APP Injector. Use that to put back what you want.

                        ______________________________

PLEASE READ THE README.TXT which is in the ZIP file!!!

This package uses a different flash tool than N101 users have been using to date. It is not RKBatchTool 1.5. It is the RKAndroidTool 1.35. We need it due to the changes I have made to the parameter file and adding ClockWork. Please follow the instruction fully to use this!

                        ______________________________

OK with all that. Here is my first ROM.

                        ROM -> Yuandao N101 - Finless ROM V1.4 CWM - BETA1 (190 megs)

                        Enjoy,
                        Bob

                        Hello Finless

I'm the owner of Cube U30GT. This tablet is RK3066 with similar specs as your Yuandao N101.

I've read some of your post about Rokchip firmware and was able to extract firmware images from official update (including recovery.img).

I was looking for porting CWM to Cube U30GT but found it's not well documented how to do it without sources (I know that must be possible having original Cube's recovery.img -based on stock recovery with additional script for supporting rockchip image format-). Do you think that It should be possible to port your CWM Recovery to Cube U30GT?

I'm also trying to update tablet using Linux. I modded rkflashtool from lamegopinto git (https://github.com/lamegopinto/rk2918tools) to support RK3066 (device id 0x2207, 0x290a). I tried to update only system.img specifiying address based on parameter file extracted form ROM (0x00100000@0x00354000(system)). Flash image completed without error but tablet did not boot again after that (I also tried booting in recovery mode, wipe cache and reset data but, in the end, had to update using RKBatchTools on windows to bring it back to live). Do you know If I "must" flash anything else than system.img in order to complete an update?

Thank you for supporting to nerds like me

Please post this question in the Cube forum so we stay on track.
I like you, modded the linuxx flash tool with the proper ID. I was able to dump the tablet ROM but it had all kinds of extra data in each section. I did not try to flash with it but it is clear something with RK3066 is a little different.

My 1.4 ROM uses RKAndroid tool that I modified to work with RK3066. This will allow you to flash parts of a ROM like the linux tool is suppose to.

As for your Cube, please make a post in the Cube forum about making a ROM. I would be glad to do it and explain how to. I have tried a few times to get the stock ROM from the vendor site but it always times out so if you want my help and you have ther stock ROM, PM me and I will send you an FTP location to upload it.

I really love this ROM, all the crap gone and a simple ICS look 'n feel

It's also nice to have more available space for apps etc.

But my - n00b - question is : when I purchased my N101 I thought it had 32gb capacity. Is there anyway to store my apps, video's, music etc on the 29gb drive in the tab (besides to replace every app one by one : I want it to be my standard storage space)...

                            Anyone?

Unless you unmount your sd card in settings everytime you install something than some apps will install to sd. You can use titanium to batch convert them to system apps.

As for music etc you can store them on the internal 32gb just plug tab into pc. Make sure USB debugging is on in developer options and create your folders on the internal memory

Last question : did somebody figure out yet if thetering is possible with the N101 (in combination with let's say a Samsung Galaxy S2 which is in my pocket right now) ?
